Quality Inn West Lafayette - University Area

Probably the worst stay I’ve ever had ! The pool was closed, the elevator was broken, the restaurant was closed, they didn’t have a king room that I had reserved months before the stay , also the sink in the bathroom wouldn’t drain and the lamp next to the bed didn’t work!

The hotel is showing its age. It's till looked like it did 35 years ago. One out of two elevators worked.

• Bedroom: headboard falling off the wall; wood furniture was scratched, marred, and worn out; upholstery and carpeting were stained; bedside lamp was flickering due to possible electrical short (potential fire hazard - confirmed it wasn't a loose bulb); entry ceiling light had only one bulb and was extremely dim; upon first entry - had to feel along the wall to find bathroom to turn on light to see (very dark room). • Bathroom: only 1 bath towel; no hair dryer; shower was moldy; shower rod was dangling from wall and in danger of falling off; missing ceiling fan cover; towel bar fell down when lifting off a hand towel (left set screw was not tightened when installed); tub faucet and valve were loose and extended about 1 inch away from the wall when pulling the diverter for the shower flow (could cause water to run behind wall and damage floors below); all bathroom caulking was cracked and separating; no grab bars (potential slip hazard) • Main hotel area: of 3 elevators, only 1 was operational; 1 was blocked off with a table; 1 was marked out of order; fitness center: missing several weight sets; 5-gal water dispenser empty Based on hotel condition, chose not to eat the free breakfast.

It was $300 cheaper than other hotels on a game day, so I wasn’t expecting a lot. I’m sure it was a very nice hotel 30 years ago. The room itself was clean. The sheets, beds, and bathroom were clean. The front desk staff was friendly.

Water pressure, odd smell , pool out of service… same as last yr

I could stay there. Got charged someone else’s deposit, gave me the wrong room, which was dirty and smelly, and then took forever to get my money back so I could find another hotel! Should have left right when I saw the used plunger sitting outside a room! I wouldn’t even have this hole listed on the site, it was that bad!

Rooms were disgusting, mold, hair on the floor, blood on the wall. Vomit behind the bed, I saw three bugs in the hallway.

Ultimate place to stay

We liked 1) the low price, 2) the convenient location, and 3) the room size. The staff was also luckily there to check us in when we arrived after midnight. We didn’t like 1) the smell in the room, an industrial-seeming deodorizer masking cigarettes; 2) the vending machine in the lobby ripped us off which was only by a few dollars, so it wasn’t the end of the world but when we approached the desk clerk (as the machine said to do for any problems), he challenged us and said it must have been right; I could have lived with the loss of the measly $3 but his unhelpful attitude was irritating; 3) the bathroom was a handicapped type which we didn’t request and the shower area had been installed badly so it looked hard to clean and thus had mildew (although the rest of the room was clean); plus water got on the floor; and the handheld-shower hook was only three feet off the ground with no hook at a normal higher spot, so I had to bend way down to wash or hold it in my hand the whole time. We managed but it was not good.

The property is older and is in need of some updates. For me and my son it was perfect and staff were great. It looks as if it were once a great place but needs updating.

This hotel seems a little neglected.

Location All in disrepair

Very dated and practically no upkeep and differed maintenance. This place smells bad and I don’t think they even try to meet United States standards

Okay for a last minute booking. Beds were extremely soft. The AC was the star. Kept the room nice and cold.

We had an awful experience at this hotel and will NEVER stay here again. A week before our trip we called to reduce our stay from 3 nights to 2 nights. We called within the necessary timeframe and I was told I was all set. When we arrived they still had us booked for 3 nights. I was told that I had to pay for the 3 nights and when checking out they would be able to issue me a refund for one night. I was skeptical but I didn't really have a choice. I made him promise me. Upon check out he mentioned we were all set and the refund would take 3-5 days. I still haven't seen the refund. I reached out to the hotel and they have no intention of honoring their word!! In addition, the pictures are not accurate. There is no resturant, there is no bar. The pool hasn't been working for 6 months. The trash at the entrance wasn't changed once when I was there and was overflowing the entire time. Rooms are fine, old, dated, mildew smelling. We knew we selected a lower level hotel and we did that on purpose, but for management to lie and deserve people is not OK with me.

The breakfast was simple but good, staff was friendly, the room was outdated but for the price is what I would expect, the cleaning was the only negative thing about that place. I just hoped that the room was more cleaned….

Very acceptable for business trip.

The “continental breakfast” was some stale cereal, a mixture of yogurts, a bowl of what was probably once hard boiled eggs, and a waffle maker. The room? It was dingy, smelly, and had about 6 lamps, 4 of which worked. The bed? 30 years old and sagged so badly in the middle that no matter where you laid down you immediately rolled to the middle. There was no mattress pad, so instead they put a weird will blanket under the sheet that just got bunched up every time you moved in the bed. The bathtub drained so slowly that by the time I was done with a 10 minute shower there was 4-5” of standing water in the tub with me. The bright spot, if there was one, is the friendly younger guy who was working the desk one night. He was extremely helpful and even brought me an extra towel to my room when I called at 1 am. It’s too bad he wasn’t working every night. The other guy working the desk, an older Indian guy, was as rude as rude could be. I had a friend, who was also staying in the same city stop in to see me at around 8 pm one night and this guy told him he couldn’t visit me as there were no visitors allowed. I won’t be back.
