Hampton Inn West Valley Salt Lake City

Maintenance is the weak point, unfortunately. Our bathroom faucet wasn’t fully attached and the fridge wasn’t working properly (with wires exposed by the dial). Also only the first floor had a working ice machine. But I will definitely be back.

The location is the only thing I liked about the property. Breakfast was decent. The room was not clean. There was a fair amount of dust on top of the headboards. There were greasy fingerprints on the backside of the door in the room, not to mention in the hallway and where you catch the elevator. The bathroom sink wouldn't drain so we ended up having to fix it ourselves. A drink had exploded all over the lamp and hadn't been cleaned. The mechanism on the door to the room got stuck and would not "catch" when it closed - the maintenance guy had to come give it a whack so it would release. When we returned on Saturday night, the room had not been made up so we returned to unmade beds and used towels and full garbages. The place is in disrepair, as one towel rack is coming off the cabinet. The shower spout is loose and coming out of the wall and hard to turn on. There is no bathroom fan switch, yet there is a fan in the ceiling of the bathroom. The dining room was dirty - food on the floor hadn't been cleaned up and all tables needed to be wiped down. I was unable to get good pics of several of these issues, unfortunately.

The staff was very courteous, helpful, and kind. The lady who checked us in (I didn’t catch her name but she had cute blue streaks in her hair) was absolutely wonderful! The hotel felt like it was in a safe location, decent access to things, about 10-15 mins from downtown SLC. Beds and pillows could’ve been a little more comfortable but they weren’t terrible by any means. The shower had pink and black gunk around the bottom edges inside and out, but everything else was really clean. Overall pleasant stay. Would recommend.

We travel with our cat, they were so accommodating, great breakfast, good variety. Lovely staff, very clean.

A perfect stay to end our trip! Rooms lovely, spacious and clean. Pool was spotless, as was the hot tub! The gym was fantastic with everything my partner and I needed. Good food choices nearby.

I would have given 5 stars but the ice machine did not work. The pillows were a little to flat. Everything else was great.

My main suggestion relates to the breakfast. Although a great breakfast and added value, staff attention was needed. Forks were not with the spoon/knife plastic utensils but were eventually found near the hotel lobby. Yogurt cups were minimal with little variety but clearly the yogurt bowl needed to be restocked. The main deficiency was no milk available for cold cereal/oatmeal. All deficiencies could be easily corrected- just need a more attentive staff.

This hotel was very clean and a quick drive to the airport. The staff were fantastic! The breakfast was good. Convenient location for shopping and eating.
