Star Hotel Route 66 Grand Canyon

Clean room, friendly staff, parking was great, and they were very pet friendly. Love this place. Great Great Great price

It was close to everything I wanted to do.

The woman at the front desk was very nice, and being able to park right in front of the room was good. The room could use repairs, including fixing walls, painting, and a missing toilet paper holder. The directv stopped working for about 2 hours for some reason, then started working again. There were rocks on the carpet, and the bathroom floor was dirty including hair. The rolling chair had stains on it. The bed foundation was propped up on wood and noisy. I don’t think they change the mattress protectors between stays since they are the fully enclosed type, and the whole mattress has to come off to change it. It would be fine if there was a washable one between it and the sheet. The room smelled weird when we first went in, then I woke up in the middle of the night to a strong cooking smell. It was inexpensive, but I would have rather spent a little more for a cleaner room. The repairs are one thing, but being dirty is gross.

It was great for the price, walking distance to everything. Owners were very nice and accomodating. There are a few hazards in parking lot (kind of uneven) but overall it was a good place to stay for the price!

The management is working diligently to revamp an older motel, and they are doing a pretty satisfactory job. It is almost impossible to have every room totally up to snuff all at once, so don't be disappointed is some small items need attention (mostly things like paint touch-ups, etc.). The complex is very quiet and seems secure, and is within walking distance of much of the historic Route 66 downtown area.

Bed and Pillows where very uncomfortable. Had issues with AC unit not actually cooling the room and magically shutting off and then turning on at odd times like the thermostat was out side an not in the room. I have no idea. Staff is awesome but the uncomfortable bed and pillows were a huge issue. Bathrooms are very nice and recently remodeled and very clean.

Room was clean, staff was friendly. Easy to get to restaurants and shops. Older Hotel. It served our needs.

Front desk check in was very pleasant and helpful. The property was clean and well maintained. The location was perfect, and the price was reasonable. Overall a good stop on the way to California.

Not a lot of storage space and ac was loud and at times didn’t work correctly and bed was ok and had back issues all 3 nights, no laundry bags for our used clothes. No iron which we needed no pool and no continental breakfast, I guess you get what you pay for. Carpets were damp:(
