The Winthrop Arms Hotel And Restaurant

Check in scheduled for 4 PM and we arrived at 3PM and paperwork 90% prepared s took minutes to complete. Room clean, bright and appeared recently remodeled. Appeared there was a fan or light above bed however only open wires were visible. No problem but suggest covering wires or added fixture.

The hotel location is wonderful and it looks like a historic hotel. Having to climb a flight of stairs, no staff on site when I left - the bartender checked me in to my room. The overhead light in my room was missing with exposed wires that were not sealed.

(1) Free parking was looking for a spot in the street, (2) I booked an ocean front ocean view room. The hotel is NOT on the ocean. The view is blocked by houses and trees. (3) While it was clean and well maintained, there were holes in the ceiling - one about 3” diameter in the living room and one about 8” diameter in the closet’s ceiling. (4) The TV in the room was broken and there is no one to call at 11pm in the evening. (5) Coffee and keurig in the room. Sugar but no cream. I enjoyed the restaurant- quite a variety of seafood, other offerings and drinks. Good service and fair pricing.

Excellent views of the ocean. Beaches are great. Restaurant was excellent. No elevator but they carried our luggage up to the 3rd floor. Nothing.

It’s a unique place to stay. Broken items in the bathroom. Hard beds.

The location near the water and the in house pub. Cozy atmosphere. Incredibly helpful young man serving as valet parking guy who carried my bag upstairs (no elevator). That there was truly PLENTY of coffee in the room while waiting for a nearby diner to open at 7 am (no breakfast on site, I knew that) I have never complained about a bed before but this one was simply not the best and do not think it had to do with my personal taste.

From the map, I could see a beach and hoped we could have coffee and a pastery at the beach. This wasn't realistic as the beach was tide out and mostly rocks and sea algae. We did sit on the wall and watch the ocean.

It was great that it was outside the city in a quiet neighborhood, close to the water. The room was small but all we needed. The house was quaint and old but beautifully updated and charming. Superb

This is an adorable older property, located within a gorgeous residential neighborhood. And cones with views of the Atlantic! I felt like I stepped back in time. The restaurant is fabulous as well. I had a wonderful stay.

Our stay was very relaxing. The view was beautiful, the nearby beach was calm, and everything was very clean. The room was spacious and quiet, with a large TV, refrigerator, coffee maker, renovated shower, and automatic air-conditioning. We also enjoyed the wonderful walks around the area. There was nothing significant that we disliked. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

It was a great stay, the place have a lot of comfort/style. It’s like 15 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from Boston city center yet it’s still quiet and right on the water in a beach town. The room was clean and comfy too.
