Engine Rewards Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions (these “Terms and Conditions”) shall govern and apply to the Engine Rewards loyalty program (the “Program”) only; if you participate in Engine X Rewards, a separate Rewards Program related to Engine X Card, please refer to the Engine X Rewards Terms available here. These Terms and Conditions shall be subject to Engine's Terms of Service located at https://www.engine.com.com/terms-of-service (“Engine’s Terms of Use”), which shall be incorporated herein by reference. Any term not defined herein shall have the meaning set forth in Engine’s Terms of Use.

1. Program Overview

The Program is offered to Engine User’s at the sole discretion of Engine, and is open only to current Engine Users who have enrolled in the Program (each, a "Member"). By participating in the Program, Members can earn points ("Points") for making and completing a Confirmed Booking and redeem available Points for future Confirmed Bookings, subject to these Terms and Conditions.

Membership in the Program is void if prohibited by law in the state or country of the Member's residence, and subject to change as may be necessary to comply with such laws or regulations.

2. Definitions

For the purposes of these Rewards Terms, the following terms apply:

2.1 Confirmed Booking: A travel reservation (such as hotel stays or other Engine approved travel services) completed through Engine’s platform, for which payment has been processed and confirmed.

2.2 Completed Confirmed Booking: A Confirmed Booking made through your Engine Account where:

2.2.1 The booking was not canceled or refunded, and

2.2.2 The traveler successfully completed the hotel stay as booked.

2.2.3 A booking that is canceled, refunded or otherwise not fulfilled prior to the scheduled

2.2.4 hotel stay does not qualify as a Completed Confirmed Booking, unless explicitly stated otherwise in these Terms (e.g., in the case of non-refundable cancellations where no refund is issued).

2.3 “Calendar year: January 1 through December 31 of the same year

2.4 You and Your: refer to any Member eligible to participate in the Program.

3. Modification of these Rewards Terms‍

Engine may at its sole discretion modify any of these Terms and Conditions including, but not limited to, the rules for earning and redeeming Points, the expiration policy for Points and the products and services on which Points may be earned and redeemed, at any time, with or without notice, even though these changes may affect your ability to use any Points you have already earned.

Your continued participation in the Program constitutes your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, as well as any changes to these Terms and Conditions. You are responsible for remaining knowledgeable as to any changes that Engine may make to these Terms and Conditions.

4. Enrollment

The Program is open to any User who enrolls in the Program through the following website: https://members.engine.com/rewards-about. No User shall automatically be enrolled into the Program. All Members who enroll into the Program hereby agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

5. Eligibility

General Eligibility. Program is open to any User who enrolls in the Program through the following website: https://members.engine.com/rewards-about.

Disqualification or Suspension. Engine reserves the right to in its sole discretion to disqualify any Member it finds to be tampering with the operation of the Program or to be acting in violation of Engine’s Terms of Use, these Terms & Conditions or in a fraudulent or deceptive manner.

Use. Any attempt by any Member to undermine the legitimate operation of the Program may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Engine reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. You are responsible for how your Rewards are used and you will ensure that all Rewards are used for the Company’s business purposes only.

Program Limitations. Participation in the Rewards Program is not guaranteed and may be limited based on partnership status, contractual obligations or other business considerations at Engine’s sole discretion. Engine reserves the right to enter into specific agreements with certain partners or user groups that may modify or restrict eligibility to earn rewards under the Rewards Program. As a result, some companies or users may be ineligible to participate in the Rewards Program, either in whole or in part, based on the terms of such agreements.

6. Membership Statuses and Benefits

The Engine Rewards program includes multiple membership tiers, which are shown in your Engine Rewards dashboard. Upon enrollment, members begin at the program’s default tier as indicated there and may qualify for higher tiers under the rules described in the dashboard. Current tier names, accrual rates (points per eligible dollar), tier-qualification thresholds, eligible activities and exclusions, redemption values, and tier benefits (collectively, the “Program Details”) are displayed in your dashboard and may be updated from time to time. Engine may modify the Program Details prospectively, including changes to point accrual rates, qualification thresholds, redemption values, and benefits.

7. Change to Membership Status

Upon enrollment, all Members shall initially start at the Engine Rewards Member level. Your Membership Status shall automatically be upgraded once you meet the membership requirements noted in Article II above. Once you achieve a new Membership Status in a calendar year, you shall retain such Membership Status until you: (a) obtain a higher Membership Status; or (b) until the end of the following calendar year.

The highest Membership Status you have achieved at the end of a calendar year shall stay with you through the end of the following calendar year. At the end of the following calendar year, your Membership Status may change if you have not maintained the minimum required levels of Confirmed Bookings and Completed Confirmed Bookings noted in Article II above. If at the end of a calendar year, you have not completed the minimum level of Completed Confirmed Bookings as noted in Article II above, your Membership Status shall restart at the Engine Rewards Member level. Any change to your Membership Status shall be automatically reflected on your Account. All accounting of your Account shall be determined by Engine's accounting of your Account. You agree to notify Engine in writing of any dispute involving your Membership Status within thirty (30) days of such change. Any change not disputed by you within thirty (30) days of such change shall be deemed to be accepted by you. Engine reserves the right to make the final determination regarding any dispute.

“Calendar year” means January 1 through December 31 of the same year

8. Earning Points

Upon enrollment, all Points for future Completed Confirmed Bookings shall be credited to your Account. No Member shall be credited any Points for Confirmed Bookings made prior to enrollment. After making a Confirmed Booking, the anticipated number of Points that correspond to your Membership Status shall be pending on your Account. One business day after the Completed Confirmed Booking, the associated Points shall be available in your Account. Any cancelled Confirmed Booking shall result in a deduction of Points that are pending on your Account.

A “Completed Confirmed Booking” means that you made a Confirmed Booking using your Engine Account and you stayed in the hotel you booked without requesting a refund or otherwise canceling the Confirmed Booking prior to the hotel stay.

Points shall be earned on the base booking rate of the hotel room and shall not include tax recovery charges (e.g., sales and use, occupancy, room tax, excise tax, value added and other similar taxes), service and administrative fees, and where applicable, taxes on Engine's services.

Points earned pursuant to fraudulent, sham or falsified information will be rescinded by Engine. Engine shall retain the right to monitor all activity on your account. If your Account shows signs of fraud, abuse, or suspicious activity, Engine may close or suspend your Account immediately, and you may lose your accrued Points. If you have conducted any fraudulent activity, Engine reserves the right to take any necessary legal action and may have grounds to confiscate any Points redeemed as a result of such activity. In addition, you may be liable for monetary losses to Engine, including litigation costs and damages, and you will not be allowed to participate in the Program in the future. Confirmed Bookings discovered to be fraudulent will have their Points rescinded, and the Account associated with such fraudulent bookings will be suspended from further Point earning or redemption activity. Further, Engine retains the right to remove any Member’s Account and access to the Program if such Member violates any of these Terms and Conditions or HE’s Terms of Use. Any such removal may result in the forfeiture of Points accrued by Member. You agree to hold Engine harmless and release Engine and its affiliates and partners from all liability regarding the forfeiture of Points resulting from a violation of these Terms and Conditions.

Point accumulation and redemption may only be accessed through your User Account. Points have no cash value and may not be traded or redeemed for cash. Points may not be assigned, sold, transferred, and/or pledged to any other Member, User or any other third party. You have no property rights or other legal interests in the Points. You are responsible for any personal tax liability that may be related to participation in the Program.

Reversal of Points. Engine may reverse or deduct Points from the Rewards Balance under the following circumstances:

If Points were inadvertently awarded on a confirmed booking, or otherwise awarded in error;
Engine may deduct such Points from your Rewards balance. Engine may also deduct Points from your Rewards balance with respect to instances where a confirmed booking was refunded, reversed, disputed, or subject to a chargeback.
An Eligible Travel transaction is cancelled and a refund is issued.

If a travel booking is cancelled but no refund is issued (such as in the case of a non-refundable booking), and the related transaction otherwise qualified, Points will not be reversed. Engine reserves the right to make adjustments at any time to this section.

If you believe you did not receive the correct amount of Points for a booking, you must contact Engine Customer Service at 855-567-4683 within fifteen (15) days from the travel end date. Engine will make the final determination as to whether Points adjustments of any kind are justified for the travel in question. Any Points not disputed by you within fifteen (15) days from the travel end date shall be deemed to have been accepted by you.

9. Redemption of Points

Members may redeem Rewards points (“Points”) (i) as a statement credit applied to the current balance on the Member’s Direct Bill Account (“Direct Bill Account Balance”) or (ii) toward Confirmed Bookings made through the Member’s Account. Points are redeemable on all Engine inventory and are not subject to blackout dates. The redemption rate for Points may vary by redemption method.

Booking with Points. If you have sufficient available Points, you may elect to use Points for the entire cost of the booking subtotal. Taxes and fees, including, without limitation, tax recovery charges (e.g., sales and use, occupancy, room, excise, value-added and similar taxes), service and administrative fees, and, where applicable, taxes on Engine’s services are not covered by Points and remain due at booking. If you do not have enough Points to cover the entire booking subtotal, you may make a partial redemption (subject to the minimum Points requirement) and pay the remaining balance, including all applicable taxes and fees, at booking.

Engine may change redemption ratios or revoke the availability of any redemption method in its sole discretion, with or without notice. Once submitted, a redemption request cannot be canceled or revoked. Engine may reject any redemption request if we cannot verify your identity, your Company’s identity, or your Direct Bill Account information.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that any actions taken by your authorized users or administrators to redeem Points associated with your Direct Bill Account comply with Company policies, applicable industry practices, ethical obligations, and all laws and regulations applicable to your business. Engine is not responsible for unauthorized redemptions of Points associated with your Direct Bill Account.

10. Expiration of Points

Points will not expire so long as your account remains active at least once during any rolling twelve (12)-month period. An active account means there is either Qualifying Activity or Legitimate Pending Activity within that rolling twelve (12)-month window. Points will expire (be forfeited) if, during any rolling twelve (12)-month period, the Company has no completed Confirmed Bookings and there is no Legitimate Pending Activity. It is the Company’s responsibility to monitor activity and ensure continued eligibility. Expired Points cannot be reinstated.

11. Activities that prevent expiration:

Qualifying Activity: at least one completed Confirmed Booking (points-earning booking that has completed).

Legitimate Pending Activity: a future-dated, non-canceled booking created within the last twelve (12) months (so Points are not forfeited while previously booked travel is pending completion).

The Points of any Member that does not have an active account shall be subject to forfeiture and such forfeited Points shall not be reissued. You agree to hold Engine harmless and release Engine and its affiliates and partners from all liability regarding the forfeiture of Points resulting from an Account that is not deemed to be an active account.

12. Changes in Terms

Engine may change these Terms and Conditions at any time, with or without notice, including but not limited to the rules for the earning of Points, the different Membership Statuses and their qualification requirements and associated benefits, and the rules for redeeming your Points.

13. No Waiver

Limitations of LiabilityYou release Engine and its affiliates and partners from all liability regarding the earning, redemption, and use of Points, including any rewards that, after receipt, may be lost, stolen, destroyed or forfeited in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Engine suppliers are in no way affiliated with or responsible for the Program administration.

Failure by Engine to enforce any of these Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision. Engine’s failure to act with respect to a breach by you or others does not waive its right to act with respect to subsequent or similar breaches.

You release Engine and its affiliates and partners from all liability regarding the earning, redemption, and use of Points, including any rewards that, after receipt, may be lost, stolen, destroyed or forfeited in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Engine suppliers are in no way affiliated with or responsible for the Program administration.

15. No Warranties

Engine makes no guarantees, warranties or representations of any kind, either express or implied, with respect to the Program, including but not limited to the availability, earning, accrual or redemption of Points, or the continued availability of any benefits, tiers or rewards. Participation in the Program is at your own risk.

16. Termination

The Program has no scheduled end date and will continue until Engine, in its sole discretion, elects to end the Program. Upon termination, you will have forty-five (45) days from the date Program termination is announced to use available Points remaining in your Account. After that date, any remaining Points will be forfeited without compensation.
