Marriott Albany

Great stay

Shower had a lot of mold in it. Bed and room clean. Bar was nice.

Only booked it for hotel shuttle and they didn’t have one that night. Called in sick they said

arrived at midnight…they were unable to provide keys…had to be walked to my room and left there without a way to re-enter. The next day, had to wait on an incredibly long check in line to get a key to the room I had already checked in to. Just generally, a messy front desk, seemed very overwhelmed and understaffed. The room was tired…The bed was very comfortable and I slept well…but the key situation and lack of problem solving around it was disappointing.

It`s a nice hotel. Parking in front is limited but many spots available. Our room was spacious except for the bathroom. They need to renovate the bathroom as the doors are almost chewed up, The paint in the bathroom has some weird pink spots which we didn`t know if it was clean or not. It a shame that it was not maintained, especially for the price we paid for the room. Staff was nice and accommodating.

I was able to get on the 1st floor which I liked. I don't like elevators. Staff smiled and greeted me when we walked in. Thought the bldg looked older than other Marriotts. Our sink wasn't draining :( we stayed 1 night to catch a flight out. It was nice that this was so close. We will choose another hotel to stay if we go back

From the moment we stepped in it was a disaster. Parking was minimal and not clearly marked, check in took 30 minutes as we were told to wait while staff chit chatted. We get our room key, get off the elevator to find trash left on a light fixture. Our room was ok, the bathroom was a disaster, toilet roll broken, shower head filty, shower dial broken, there was a weird brown goo dripping down the wall. I alway had high respect for Marrott but this definitely changed my opinion. Going forward we will never book with Marriott. Oh also since we booked through expedia and left a day early they said we would not be getting the money back for the unused night.

Hotel does not offer free wifi. They charge $12.95 unless you sign up for their Bonvoy membership. I suppose this another way for their marketing to get your information. They also did not offer complimentary coffee in the lobby/bar area.

We were visiting my son on Family weekend at Ualbany. The location was perfect for this trip, close to the university, restaurants and shopping. Room was spacious, clean and well laid out. Amenities like the pool and gym were perfect. Staff was friendly and helpful, even informing us on a fair that was in town. The only issue we had(minor one) was the AC unit in our room would constantly go on and off throughout the night and it was kind of loud when it did that. Aside from that the place was perfect for our trip. Would definitely stay again when in the Albany area.

The experience was satisfactory, though not exceptional. Room service fell short of expectations. The building's age was evident, with several problems affecting the hotel room door. However, the staff demonstrated friendliness and courtesy.

Location was fine, nice bar. Very very very noisy hvac unit, all nite long very slippery shower floor, no hand rails stayed in room # 422 , would have checked room but the hotel was full!

The only thing I didn’t like is that the shuttle only starts at four my flight was at 5:30 in the morning. You’re supposed to get to the airport two hours beforehand so I didn’t get to the airport till about 4:15. That is not cool for people that are traveling early.
