La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Alexandria Airport

Avoid the La Quinta in Alexandria, Louisiana at all costs. My experience here was a complete disaster from check-in to early morning, marked by deceptive pricing, gross lack of sanitation, and an abandoned front desk. Please read further. Deceptive Fees & Poor Check-In Experience I arrived recently after 5 PM with a prepaid reservation through Hotels.com. The daytime receptionist, Naj, informed me I had to pay an additional, undisclosed $100 room deposit charge on my credit card to check in. I agreed because what was I to do, I had already prepaid for the room. When I asked for a receipt for this transaction, she refused, claiming her system could not generate one. Checking my banking app later, I saw the pending charge with no explanation provided. Naj said they would sit on my [and many other folks’] money for seven days before refunding. Unsanitary Room Conditions The first room I was assigned was disgusting. There was a large, obvious blue stain on the comforter. When I took photos to show Naj to ensure my deposit wouldn't be wrongfully withheld, she dismissed it, bizarrely claiming stains are "acceptable if they are under a certain size." Upon returning to the room to pull back the sheets, I discovered a large, dried urine stain on the bedding. The sheets had clearly not been changed. Disgusting! The bathroom was DISGUSTING. The staff had to work with no A/C. Horrible working conditions. Vending machines were no where in sight. The vending area wasn’t stocked. Breakfast nasty. They need to just close down and remodel.

Breakfast was horrible. They were out of most things. Ended up eating dry fruit loops then going to Cracker Barrel. We also left a day early. No refund - nothing. The hostess was not very helpful. Hot tub was green. We did enjoy sitting around the pool visiting with the rest of our family from 4 different states.

The property is decaying, rooms were not clean, it offered a breakfast but nothing was served. We only stayed there because we had to spend the night, will never stay there again.

Air conditioning did not work in this room. Had to get moved to another room. Eh rooms aren’t the cleanest, the bathroom stunk, elevator also went down. Wasn’t an overall good stay.

No breakfast on weekend! Room not cool even set at 60! Carpet sticky, smelled like pee or mildew!

Comfortable

Nice hotel , pool was good and clean, the rooms were clean and big. It’s not the best place to stay but not the worst. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ok same everywhere. I would stay here again .

Staff attitude was horrible, damage to the bathroom wall, low water pressure in the bathroom sink, bed was fixed horribly, waffle machine wasn't working for breakfast, unexpectedly charge i wasn't aware of.

Breakfast waffle machine was broken I fell in the hall and nobody could help me they said they would send the manager to my room and nobody showed up all day to even see if I was ok. So I think that was very poor on the manager The front desk said they didn't have accident reports. I hurt my left shoulder and my right knee and I am also handicap.

everything is good and have no problems

2nd weekend in a row I stayed here and both times had to call for bath soap to be brought to the room. Last night I had to call for towels, wash clothes and wash rags because there were NONE. Needs a lot of care.

How do you run out of towels… they didn’t have an answer either. Or getting room cleaned… this place was bad. Don’t stay here. The door was broken too. I get it, it was cheap but man, trust me. DONT STAY HERE!

The staff was very nice however helpful! Breakfast is always on time and fully stocked. The room was clean for the most part. There was a pillow that had a gray stain on it not sure what that was from but everything else was cleaned.

Quick and friendly check in

Beds were horrible. Small and very uncomfortable. I was on business trip plan to stay 2 weeks. After the first week I moved hotels. I was working 12 hour days and not being able to sleep due to the beds made for a very miserable week.

The power went off due to a storm, which led to the fire alarm going off 4x during the night. Not their fault, but made a not great experience even worse. It has the potential to be a really nice hotel, just need to make some repairs to several things and do a better job cleaning.

The room was clean and the ac worked perfectly. The power did go off and I'm not sure why and the fire alarms went off twice in the middle of my second night there. I will say if I'm ever in the area again I'd definitely stay here again and I'd recommend it to friends and family.
