To start there are signs posted the doors are locked 24hrs daily however the building doors (front and back) were never locked, with me coming in as late as 2am on some days. The staff are not helpful. The building was visibly dirty and smelled of smoke and maybe urine. The rooms were equally dirty, hair on the countertop and in the sink and a ring around the tub. The linens also were stained. I had to purchase cleaning supplies and towels first day. They had beggars around the property and in the parking lot there was windshield glass as if someone car was recently broken into. In the middle of the night on my 2nd day a man kept banging on the door trying to enter the room and the front desk never answered the phone. I would never stay here again.

The bed and the security

This was a horrible experience. Neither the hotel nor Expedia notified the public that this hotel is used by local or state government to pay for living quarters for indigent people… homeless, troubled, battered, recovering addicts, etc. I have nothing but sympathy and good will for these people, but I was not forewarned when I made my booking. I should have been. Had I know, frankly I would not have stayed at this hotel. Examples: The halls reeked of marijuana smoke; when i went outside the property i was accosted by a man wanting me to provide him with a wire coat hanger so he could get his locked keys in his car…he then in front of me in the parking lot smashed his car’s window with a rock to gain entre; a parole officer or social worker was concluding an interview in the hallway with an occupant as I walked by them; as i was checking out of the hotel an occupant was also trying to check out, only he was vexed by his inability to check out after A YEAR OF occupancy! The room was relatively clean, but given all of the above I was genuinely concerned about bed-bugs, as well as my safety. This was a terrible, terrible experience. As I said, I have sympathy and goodwill for troubled people, but a hotel that is acting as a ward of the state for troubled souls should at least disclose its business model to travelers to decide if they want to stay there or not. I will never stay in a Extended Stay America hotel again.

I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience. The property did not match my expectations from the listing, and I was uncomfortable with the overall environment. When I arrived, I noticed a parking space reserved for law enforcement and a lobby monitor advising guests that the area was being recorded. While those measures may be intended for security, they made me more concerned about the property and surrounding area. The lobby also appeared poorly maintained, and the room did not seem clean and had an unpleasant odor. I ultimately chose not to stay at the hotel and contacted the property the following morning to request a refund for the remaining nights. Overall, the experience was very disappointing, and I would not choose to stay here again.

Unfortunately a negative review, I'll start out with the positives. The room itself was extremely clean, except what looked like a dried blood stain on one of the pillows. A/C was fantastic. The Carpeting in the hallways smells and whatever perfume was used to mask it did not help, terrible. There was a lounge but it was bare and unused, kept locked up. Not having a coffee maker in the room was a serious negative. Could not get Netflix to work, did bring that up to the front desk but it was never fixed. There are two spots reserved for Police in the very front of the building and I saw two activities that warranted police intervention. One was what may have been a homeless woman wandering around and the other was a woman who was having a mental health crisis who was on the lobby phone with someone in the healthcare system. She loudly complained of having a panic attack and was in the lobby about 15 minutes before she calmed down, I didn't stick around to see what happened, but did see it unfold going back and forth between car and room over that 15 min period. Location was in the middle of light industry, railway yards, storage businesses, sadly a lack of places to eat without traveling several miles. Will definitely pass on this in the future. I should have done more research, the only thing it was close to was the beltway exit.

In fact, there was nothing one could like about this facility. I’m not sure it can even quality to be a shelter for homeless. It was really bad. Terrible experience—avoid if you value hygiene. You hardly see someone at the reception, the hardware is old and rusty, and the hallway carpets are filthy. The kitchenware is stained, and the washroom smells awful. To make matters worse, the staff stated they only clean rooms and change bedsheets once every two weeks, even if guests are currently staying there. Expecting a guest to use the same sheets for two weeks is entirely unacceptable. I could not stand being here and would not recommend it to anyone. You can image the kind of people you will find here.

The shower had hair in the tub and on the shower walls. One of the towels had the same hair in it when I opened it up. One of the bedroom walls looked like some type of beverage exploded on it. The TV remote was dead. When we checked in, there was another guest talking to the guy at the front desk with the same battery issue. It took a while (for both of us) but he was able to replace the batteries in the remote. I would never stay here again. Spend a little more for a better place.
