The beds were clean & comfortable. Furnishings were good. The staff were friendly. The exterior door handle to the rear entrance was broken off, and the desk clerk was not even aware of that. The bathroom was small, hair all over the floor, and the tile grout and the sealer around the shower surround were dirty.

Rooms outdated. Safety locks broke. Bedsheets with holes in them, mold in the bathroom, smell, and drugs being used throughout the hotel.

Overall quality of the property was marginal. Overall smell was marginal. The following night I stayed at the holiday inn a few buildings down. Bed mattress probably needed replacement.

Was pretty easy to find. Internet was good. TV was nice, even though I didn't watch it. Refrigerator is always good to have. Everything was very clean, though, and it was mostly quiet. No clock, coffee maker, cups or glasses, or do not disturb sign in the room. Some things were a bit shabby. Breakfast DEFINITELY needs improving. I usually grab a bagel and yogurt for breakfast from places like this. Barely had any cereal (couldn't tell what kind it was) no yogurt or fruit, milk only in big gallon jugs, both coffee pots were marked "regular," only pastries were chocolate covered donuts. There were make your own waffles, yuck. I expect more for the price level I was charged.

The shower was super slippery, making getting in and out extremely difficult. There is no elevator and it was difficult to get our suitcase to our room.

I ended up not even staying. Upon pulling up to the business there were drug addicts leaning against the walls at all the exits of the building passed out. I got asked for money as soon as getting out of my vehicle from homeless people. The inside of the building stunk like smoke. I tried giving it the benefit of the doubt and going up to the room was not impressed with the room layout and the smell of the room. Breakfast area for morning time was disgusting, spilled liquids in the coolers place is trash for 138 of wasted money for not even staying and no refunds.

Nothing except was close to food and shopping. Nasty smell in hallways,very very dim lights,people wandering around that weren’t guests

Location was good Breakfast had no fruit , no proteins. Only waffles and cereal and watered down juice.. floors/ carpets were very dirty. Room heater made noise on anything but high fan. Lack of maintenance. No coffee maker in room. Change in towels and linens indicated only for every 3 days unless ask for different. Open electrical above mirror in bathroom.

I do have a question re: handicapped accessible rooms. The rooms were on the lower level- which was fine. BUT to get to the breakfast area room, you either walked up and around the outside of the building or climbed stairs. ALSO to use the shower, you had to be able to raise your leg at least 15 inches to clear the side of the tub. THEN TO STEP OUT OF THE TUB- YOU had to step up and down approx. 18 inches. THIS DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ACCESSIBLE FOR A WHEELCHAIR OR PERSON ON A WALKER.

The hotel did not feel as safe as other places we have stayed in Alton. People loitering around the front desk when we arrived.
