This stay at the Holiday Inn Express Amarillo did much to restore our faith in Holiday Inns. Always loyal a couple of decades ago, we have had multiple experiences where Holiday Inns were run down with not-so clean carpets damp with smelly cleaning solutions, moldy grouted bathrooms and noisy window AC units. This Holiday Inn was well maintained, fresh and light with a better than average included breakfast. We have hesitated to stay in Holiday Inns for the last 10 years or so, but this stay will definitely make it more likely that we will try Holiday Inns more in the upcoming months.

Lots of choices at breakfast. Clean room. No complaints.

The property was alright. The real irritation I had was with how staff handled a stray dog coming into the hotel. It came in during breakfast and they just let it wander into the kitchen. People have dogs and kids down there trying to have breakfast before hitting the road. They tried to lure it out with food. Finally I had to grab it and put it outside. I thought that might prompt staffed actually handle the situation. I was wrong. The dog wandered back in and so finally I grabbed the dog and put it in the single toilet men’s bathroom on the first floor. And then staff had to be prompted to call animal control to come get the dog.

Repeat stay appreciate Clean room, comfortable bed, quiet, what more can you ask for. Resturants within walking distance.

The room was clean. The staff was helpful. Unfortunate, the breakfast was the worst I've ever had at a Holiday Inn Express.

The breakfast is always excellent, allowing me to have healthy options to partake on travel. We used the indoor pool and weight room for the first time and were very pleased with the cleanliness, the showers to wash off after swimming, and the towels available.
