Spark by Hilton Amarillo Medical Center

Tub in the bathroom was not clean.

Dog hair all on the floor and food in my bed. It looked like someone had already when in the bed

Arrived to check in. Room was not ready. Bed not maid, bathroom not clean, food in the refrigerator. They moved us to another room.

This hotel definitely needs a good clean. The lack of safety is worrying. First the door for my room was open when I walked in the room they have left a carpet cleaner machine right in the middle of the room. I went to talk to front office and she came to remove it but it seems whoever left it was about to clean a red stain in the carpet. Then the hotel and room had a peculiar smell, there was a broken door from the desk left underneath the tv, under the mattress there was an open wrap of the instant soup condiments an eye mask and more trash, the other mattress had trash underneath and the pillows were stained. A very poor quality hotel. We asked for a refund since we weren’t going to stay there after all that and our room was next to one of the back door entrance and that door was broken and left open so basically anyone can come through that door. For the refund they told us manager had to approve it and it wasn’t available and they basically never do refunds if we wanted to leave it was up to us. We left and we will never come back here. We are planning to reach out to management and hopefully they can refund us before having to reach out corporate.

Nothing, the staff were rude and unhelpful. Our room carpet was covered in urine that had not been cleaned properly. The front desk woman hates her job and it shows. She was rude from the beginning to end.

The elevator and hallways were hot and not the cleanest. The foyer and desk area were great and looked just like the pictures. Beyond that it is a different story. I would not stay at this hotel again.

The location and cleanliness There is no pool/hot tub, and the buildings air conditioning was not working so the hallways were warm.

The accommodations were not what was stated on hotels.com, my room smelled disgusting, and there were no other rooms available for the night. The bathroom was unusable because the shower was so gross and the smell was so bad. :( :(

Nothing. This location has many issues: location, safety, old, sitting behind a strip center and homeless individuals in the parking lot areas. See below feedback on expanded comments. I am forwarding this feedback to Hilton Hotel too. I recommend Booking.com not use this location! I have stayed at a Spark Hotel by Hilton previously; therefore, I found this one in Amarillo. I have never been so disappointed for many reasons: Location is in a bad area Homeless people in parking lot Hotel setting behind a strip center in same parking lot It was not a safe and I felt uncomfortable with the location especially since I was traveling alone I was on the 1st floor at the end of a wing and there was a loud humming noise constantly The floor/ground in the area was actually vibrating from the noise level. The room smelled musty. Window sills were dirty and appeared to have leaked at some point as paint was peeling off. I went to the front desk and asked to be moved to another room. The desk clerk said she could not do that without calling her Manager and of course, the Manager never answered the phone. I asked if she would transfer me to another Spark location and she said they had no access to do that. The Maintenance Tech walked up and we asked him about the noise and floor/ground vibration. He stated there was a large electrical transformer station located on the corner outside the room and that was the noise it makes and probably the vibration. The transformer appeared to be about 10 ' x 10' x 6' size -- obviously a commercial electrical ground transformer station. I had booked the stay at Spark for one night - Jul 21-Jul22nd. I was so upset nothing could be done to resolve my stay that I was shaking and crying. I went to the room, gathered my belongings, walked out. I was in the room a total of 15 minutes when I approached the Desk Clerk for help. With no obvisous resolution I drove to Dumas Texas, about 50 miles from Amarillo and checked into a Hampton Inn by Hilton for the night for Jul 21- Jul 22nd.

We had reservations here but when we got there they didn’t show us having one. I showed them the confirmation but it wasn’t one on their end. Finally I said fine do you have any rooms available and she said yes (10 rooms). By then the lobby was full and asked if she could check in the other guests. Once they were checked in I went up to get a room and she said she had no rooms available. I spent 1 plus hours trying to get a room at 10pm. We ended up at another Hilton (back tracked 8 miles out of my way). The check in staff had no knowledge of how to get us a room. It was my understanding that the Hilton site crashed earlier so all reservations scheduled from a third party was lost. When we got to our next hotel the staff was great but end up costing me $100 more for a 8 hour stay Staff didn’t have any knowledge and we never did get a room after being there for an hour and a half.

This one is walking distance to a few restaurants!
