We only stayed here 1 night because we were headed south to San Diego and needed a break. We had a room on the ground floor that had a queen bed and a bunk bed - cute concept. Unfortunately there was no TV at all - the TV mount was there but no actual TV. We were really tired so didn't mind too much. The fridge was retro cute but there was no microwave. There were 4 stools but oddly no table on which to eat. The bathroom setup was kind of cute but not super well designed because half of the shower had glass but not the other half so some water splashed out. Thankfully the bathroom is small enough for it not to get cold too. The walls needed to be cleaned/scrubbed though - the bottom 2-3 feet of most of the walls were kind of dirty and overall a fresh coat of paint was needed. The walls are pretty thin as we heard the neighbors arguing etc. until past midnight. The towels were soft and the bedding was clean. Overall an ok experience at this little inn.

The bed was very comfortable, on the firmer side but with a soft top. Definitely booking another stay at the California Inn

We stayed at this property about a year ago and it was nice, clean, modern. However this last experience was TERRIBLE, sheets and pillows had visible stains on them, the shower had not been clean properly and had black mildew/mold. What was most uncomfortable is the loitering allowed by this property! The people around clearly had substance abuse. They hung out down stairs on the side walks, played loud music/tv and at 4am one was banging and yelling for the person to open the door. This was right next door to us. I message the property since I was scared to walk down and I didn’t get a reply. I also called and no answer. I took photos of what I am describing in my review. It’s just so disappointing being that this used to be sooo nice and it has potential! But they just let it go in a short amount of time.

Friendly staff Location and a lot of sketchy activity as well as random knocks on our door at 2am. We did not feel safe.

The convenience of being down the street from Disneyland is awesome Random people hang out in the parking lot. It also looks like homeless people rent rooms here. Our first room smelled really bad and I had to change room location. Then I saw big roaches in the second room bathroom. The shower was clogged and walls in the bathroom have stains on them.

The rooms were clean and had a theme to them. The motel tired hard and it shows. Only suggestion would be to keep the mini frig plugged I .

I was promised a refund by the manager but have not been able to get any refund. Horrible place
-
The people at the front desk are super friendly and helpful The floors were FILTHY, hair -that wasn’t ours - on the towels, the walls are dirty, and the toilet in our first room looked like it had been used just before we got in.

Location is importance for the occasion

We booked the California Inn in Anaheim through Hotels.com and it was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. We arrived at night to find drug dealers in the parking lot, people yelling near the adjacent liquor store, and homeless individuals going in and out of rooms. It felt completely unsafe, especially with our children with us. The room itself was just as bad — it reeked of urine and bleach, had visible stains on the headboard, and cigarette debris scattered around. We didn’t even unpack; we went straight to the front office and left. The man at the front desk told us he’d issue a refund but that we needed to go through Hotels.com to process it. Since then, we’ve called the hotel over 100 times with no answer, and Hotels.com won’t refund us without the name and title of the staff member who told us this — information we didn’t think to get because we assumed it would simply be handled. We paid full price for a room we never stayed in, at a property that felt more like a halfway house than a hotel. Do not book here, especially if you have family with you.

Great location and nice aesthetics No house keeping the three nights we were there asked for towels on day 2 and was told that house keeping would leave towels when they returned the next day when returned to room still no clean towels had to buy our own for last day.

Plenty of parking Although fixed up it was like putting lipstick on a pig. Rooms are not clean

Beautiful pictures, but totally weird and the room was super moldy
-
The Manager was rude to me kicked me out of the room two times for no reason

This was my worst travel experience by far. The room pictures are very deceptive. Linens and towels were discolored and stained. Bugs in the bathroom and a leaking toilet. Left my room to go explore the area put the “do not disturb” sign on the door, when I returned after a few hours someone had broken into my room and stole a few things. Do not go here absolutely terrible.

Not my first stay at the California Inn, which location (relatively close to the Disneyland parks) and previous experience encouraged my recent stay. Starting off with the check in process. You would think level of security would feel nice; however, upon checking in I was greeted by a slightly disheveled looking worker. He asked for my name for my reservation. Upon giving my first name he printed out a key which was covered in grime. No checking of any ID, no credit card, just a name a boom access granted. The thought in the back of my head was hmm, maybe leaving valuables inside of my room is a bad call. Check in is done. Parking is fairly tight but open and easy to navigate. Clutter is everywhere with some “extended stay” guests having bikes and property strewn across the sidewalks. Entering the room shows the decline in this place. The first thing you notice is the strong odor of stale moldy air. If you were tired from your long travels into town you’re awake now just in time for the fun. The floors are grimly, the furniture is stained and sticky. The linens and towels are stained and covered in previous guests hair that make you wonder if they were indeed changed. The decorative pillows on the bed had the stitching bursting at the seems. No ice machine available and the AC had a strong smell of urine emitting from the vent. Woken up mid morning by multiple knocks at my door with the maid trying to enter my room.
