The only complaint was the bathroom by the pool was disgusting

The room was clean, but had a musty smell. The young man at the desk that checked us in was very nice, helpful and polite. He even came to our room to assist with getting the TV to work. Breakfast was great. The woman at the front desk did an excellent job at keeping fresh food stocked for the guests. The pool was refreshing. Not too cold. The hot tub was great as well. Over all, a pretty good stay!

Breakfast was average but good. Selection was limited. The mattress was uncomfortable. After a shower I walked barefoot (with dry feet) across the carpet. The bottom of my feet were dirty by the time I sat on the bed - maybe that would the case be at any hotel but it was here. I reported the carpet needed cleaning when I checked out and received an apology. The desk help was engaging. The price was right but the facility could stand some improvement. I’m not typically a complainer but am reporting what I found.

This place is clean and quiet. The rooms are spacious. The location is just off the main drag so you don't get the road noise. My only complaint was the breakfast, while it was provided, it was very lackluster. The waffle batter seemed more like bread dough, the sausage was boiled, no water was provided for drinking. Although the coffee was actually pretty good, usually hotel coffee is terrible on purpose so people won't drink it.

I had never heard of this hotel but I was pleasantly surprised. It has a warm and cozy feel. The staff was great. My family especially enjoyed the king suite! It was comfortable. The location of the breakfast was spacious, clean and very comfortable. I was particularly thankful that the TV programming in the dining area was family friendly. The pool and hot tub appeared inviting though I didn't swim. The hotel is only about a 30 minute drive from the Des Moines airport and Drake University. Downtown was closer.I used Uber to get around town. I was less pleased with the hot breakfast selection because it was the same daily and the food wasn't very tasty. Also, I wish bottled or filtered water was available. I think a hotel should offer complimentary bottled water. The hotel's location was a good distance from any restaurants so you have to drive. However, there's a gas station/convenience store next door. The pizza was good.

My husband and I attended a Neurological rehabilitation reunion in the area and booked one of their Handicapped Accessibility rooms, We were very impressed how he was able to get around the room in his wheelchair and utilize the bathroom/shower. The staff was very helpful if I needed assistance with caring for my husband during the breakfast service, or with pushing his chair thru the hallways / into the room. The pool area had chairlifts into both the pool and the hot tub that allowed my husband to enjoy some time in the water and get some "water therapy" time to work on regaining his ability to stand up and walk on his own. We are already planning on going back next year for the next reunion, and we will be booking our room with AmericInn again. Very wonderful experience.

Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. Safe location. Staff could have been a little friendlier when we checked in when answering our questions. The Hot water for tea was not hot & it had a brown color. Water pressure too strong in the shower. Would really appreciate seeing some meat free, non-dairy (ex. Coconut or almond milk milk & yogurt) & gluten free options for breakfast.

We didn't use the pool or hot tub. The breakfast was fine - usual hotel breakfast fare. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
