Arden Forest Inn

Comfortable bed, very clean room. Classical music on the clock radio when we arrived. Beautiful, calm patio for reading outdoors in the afternoon. Very relaxing stay. Maybe some complimentary snacks in the kitchen? Feels like a B & B without one of the Bs.

This inn had a lot of character. Lots of outside seating in the gardens. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful. Some of features were showing some age, like the shower, but we really enjoyed the ambience and location. It was only about a 15 minute walk to downtown and the theaters.

Location, parking, general feel of the property and rooms Was hard to spot initially, couldn't see the sign at all when coming down the north to south side of the street.

The inn was a short walk from the theatre area of Ashland so I didn't have to drive into town and find parking. The guest kitchen was handy for keeping leftovers from a restaurant in the fridge and reheating the next day in the microwave. Dishes and cutlery were provided. The A/C compressor came on every 10-15 minutes during the night. When I went to bed I turned the system to OFF on the wall thermostat, and it was already 67 degrees outside and 70 inside. The thermostat in my room was set at 72. Yet the compressor kept coming on and cold air was blowing through the ceiling vents. After a couple of hours of this and no sleep, I closed both ceiling vents. However, the compressor kept turning on noisily and the fan kept blowing noisily and I could still feel cold air blowing in the room, probably because the cold air return is in the ceiling above the bed. The thermostat in the room has nothing to do with the temperature or vents in that room. Another thermostat must be controlling it. I could find no way to turn the system off. Also, every time the fan turned off after the compressor stopped for 10 minutes, there was a clang like a valve closing somewhere above the ceiling. As a result I got almost no sleep.

Wonderful, would stay again and highly recommended. The owner was nice and helpful. The property was cute, quiet and relaxing.

Clean and cozy. Good location

We loved the quiet neighborhood location. The property is lovely, with a large, nicely landscaped yard and a pool. Our room also had its own little private yard, which was lovely. It was great to have the kitchen facilities, which we used for coffee and a simple breakfast. The bed sheets were scented. I am allergic to many laundry scents and I had problems with this. I would recommend using unscented products.

Such a peaceful getaway and easy walk to downtown ashland. I'm very happy that I decided to stay here to experience the neighborhood culture of Ashland instead of staying on the main stretch of Inns. There were so many deer and other wildlife in the garden! Also, the hosts were very nice and accommodating. 100% recommend!

It was a decent walk into town It was tired. Many of the items as described were embellished. For example, the room description read as if we would have a kitchenette in our room. However, it was a shared kitchenette. We booked the property specifically because it had a pool. When we arrive, we asked the Inn keeper about it, and he said that the pump had broken recently, but it should still be warm. There is a decaying pump next to a fence that looked like it had been broken for years; the water was too cold for my husband to even get in. The cushions on the iron lounge chairs were so thin and thread bare making them very uncomfortable. I paid more for a king bed, but we quickly learned that we had two twins pushed together. Not the same. Everything in the room was clean, although the towels were old and fraying. The linens were washed with a detergent that had a heavy fragrance, making it very difficult to sleep. Finally, there were no flowers in this garden. The landscaping was overgrown, making making me feel that we had overpaid for a property that had been forgotten.

Terrific in all aspects. Look forward to returning.

No breakfast : good location.

Location was great--within walking distance of town. Room was very comfortable (though a bit dated). The grounds were wonderful--big yard with places to sit outside. We had a private and lovely patio outside our room. Pool was too small to swim in, but at least, there was a pool. We desperately needed A/C because of 100 degree plus temperature and it functioned well. A bonus was free coffee and a large refrigerator in the guest's kitchen. Pool was too small to swim in.

Charming B&B walkable to downtown Ashland. Gracious hosts with a friendly welcome, offered info on local favs. Comfortable room and bed. Pool a big bonus!

Beautiful location, quiet, small with wonderful grounds and pool. There was nothing not to like.

The hosts were wonderful. Very nice and extremely knowledgeable about the area. The room was very well-appointed and very comfortable. The pool was an added bonus, and the grounds were very relaxing.

Tasteful charming bedroom and bathroom.

A quiet room with a private entrance and nice outdoor areas for relaxation. A small kitchenette is shared by all with free coffee in the morning to drink in the garden.

We really liked our cozy, well-appointed room, the pool to cool off, and the walking distance into town. Arden Hills was perfect for our three days at the OSF.
