Excellent hotel in the heart of Ashland within short walking distance to OSF. Ashland Creek borders the property. Lovely park - like setting. Breakfast has good variety and service. Stayed here many times over the years. Never disappointed.

We enjoyed our stay at the Plaza Inn. The property was quiet and convenient to downtown. The breakfast had real plates and hot food, but not much for those who would like more healthful options (no oatmeal or unsweetened cereal, minimal fresh fruit). I also wish the hotel had a greater commitment to sustainability. They are still using the small single-use shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash bottles. It would be better if they converted to the larger refillable bottles of these items like other hotels have. We used the small fitness room but ended up getting a week pass to nearby Snap Fitness. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Nice hotel, close to downtown

The staff were friendly and very welcoming on our arrival. The room was nice but rather plain. A good amount of space but otherwise blah. Bed was OK but the pillows were very lumpy! Location close to shopping and the theaters is outstanding.

Front Desk clerk was very nice and helpful on arribal, however the following day the Front Desk Manager (long blond hair) was not very nice. I stood in front of the FD manager for several minutes and she did not acknowledge that I was right in front of her as she was training the front desk clerk on how to charge another guest. This took several minutes as I was standing there and she did not look up once- when I interrupted her after standing there (she knew I was there waiting) I finally asked if I could get change for a $5 bill. She acted quite disturbed as she took my $5 and continued the lesson with the clerk as if I was bothering her. I felt that I was quite a bother to her. She finished talking with her FD employee and finally handed me my change. I think that she needs a lesson in customer hospitality.

Great and close to everything stay!
-
Room comfortable, clean, and well furnished and decorated. -- Hotel in a great spot - beautiful and in the heart of town - easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, Lithia Park and Shakespeare Theaters.
-
Close to the plaza. Woman working the desk didn't want to see if they had any clean rooms. Many places we stay will look fo a room if you arrive early. She just said come back at 4:00.

Breakfast was good.

The place is a little confusing zigzagging trying to find our room. The breakfast was excellent so eat to your hearts content. The hotel is located very close to the downtown area of Ashland. The Elizabethan theaters are about 4 blocks away. I thought that on a Wednesday night, there wouldn't be a large crowd but I was wrong. Long lines waiting at the theater. I guess it must be really good. Lots of little shops and restaurants all throughout the area so you will be very busy walking around. We had found a free public parking lot with a limit of 4 hours. We used all of the 4 hours before our feet got so tired. Definitely a good place to stay.

Great location! Close to restaurants, shops and OSF. Parking on site
-
Old hotel but great vibe and very clean … great location
-
Cons: needs major updating, darkish room with poor lighting, no hairdryers in rooms, only fresh air is through door to patio but there is no screen so mosquitos come in
-
Wonderful location in the heart of Ashland. Easy walk to Lithia Park and the outdoor dining spot along Ashland Creek.
-
Beds were fine but decor of rooms was like sleeping in a toddlers bedroom (vivid primary colors in bold patterns) Pretty clean but could use some updating
-
This hotel was clean, quiet, and had a free breakfast with variety. It was a perfect location. There were so many restaurants, stores, and parks within walking distance.
-
completely satisfied!
-
Outstanding location. Hotel itself is clean but fairly dated decor. Staff is helpful.
