I stayed here August 21st, 2026. This was the most recently priced hotel in Ashland for a Friday night and last minute booking. The room was very clean, the bedding was a good quality and very comfortable. The bathroom area was spotless. Had all of the amenities I wanted. Included a decent continental breakfast. The location is excellent. There are a lot of options for dining, shopping and access to that SOC campus and theaters. I would definitely stay here again.

The on site staff was wonderful and the people manning the “virtual” check in were polite, but never again will I stay at a place with a robot check in. Three trips to the room with a card that did not function until a live person arrived to fix it. Card stopped working the second day - even though it was a four night stay - and had to repeat the nonsense with the check in with the virtual robot again while worrying we would then miss our OSF play start time

The location was great, and overall the stay was adequate, and the price was right. However, the carpet was crunchy beneath my feet, and something in the room caused me to sneeze constantly. The a/c cycled on and off loudly all night, which affected my sleep. The breakfast was very sparse, so we went down the street to an excellent breakfast place instead.

Rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. Thought I had left a bag there in my room. They looked for it and called me back to let me know it wasn't there. Due to my own error I found the bag I thought I lost, but very appreciative of the staff for their help.

My pillow had a stain on it, there were 2 or 3 strands of hair (not mine, there when I checked in) on the sheets. The floor seemed like it hadn't been vacuumed in a while, the toilet moved when I sat on it (like it wasn't attached to the ground properly). And, while not a deal breaker, definitely weird - I was checking in late and I called ahead to ask if there would be staff at the front desk. I was told YES. The catch being - they didn't have staff physically at the desk. There was a video kiosk thru which their staff was "on a call" with you helping you check in. Idk, it felt like a weird thing to be evasive about.

Our introduction to the Prospero was a remote person - a literal person speaking to us from a screen from who knows where. This person had a thick accent, which, coupled with the frequent glitching, made communication extremely difficult. Our room was pleasant enough, except the shower stall was tiny. The pool offered a lovely afternoon, however it is right next to the main drag. We were not told that maid service only comes every other day. And, without anybody to talk to in person, we couldn't get fresh towels or get our trash taken out. Overall, we were not satisfied.

We’ve stayed here multiple times, but unfortunately, after our most recent experience, we won’t be back. They’ve recently implemented a kiosk for check-in that connects you virtually with an outsourced employee. The process was slow, the Wi-Fi connection was spotty, and I could only hear every few words the person was saying, which made check-in incredibly frustrating. What was most disappointing was that there was an employee sitting in the office, but they weren’t handling check-ins, checkouts, or even basic guest questions. I asked a simple question about a local grocery store and was directed by the person at the desk to ask the virtual employee on the kiosk instead. It wasn’t just us, either. Everyone in line before and after us seemed equally frustrated with the new system. It feels very impersonal and unnecessarily complicated, especially when there is an employee physically sitting right there. We’ve enjoyed staying here in the past, which makes this especially disappointing, but based on this experience, we won’t be returning.

The pool was dirty, including debris on the bottom and discolored. We did not swim. The window coverings on room (which was unexpectedly below ground level) were significantly torn, such that we could put a head through on both panels. We had to use our own chip clip to close the coverings so that we had privacy. I will say that the room and sheets were clean with very basic amenities and a cold concrete floor. The best part was the mexican restaurant on site - strongly recommend!

The check in was with a kiosk not a person. Very confusing and hard to use. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Bathroom small. Breakfast had waffle maker - no sugar-free syrup. Otherwise mostly carbs.

Clean property with clean outdoor pool and generally nice accommodations. No noise when we stayed and seemed to be a popular choice for travelers and groups. Would recommend

The automated check-in was odd and not helpful. The people on the screen were reading from a script and didn't listen to the questions we were asking. The room had a number of little items that were not well maintained--the hand towel rack kept coming off the wall, the comforter had burn marks, the coffee was not well stocked (we had only 1 regular coffee and 1 decaf). There were a number of brackets and other items on the wall, but nothing attached to them — like they remodeled but then left the old hanging stuff up. The shower floor was loose--felt like I was going to fall through. The office person who would not handle check-ins always seemed to be in damage control.

HATED the AI that was used for check in and check out. NO HUMAN interaction Terrible. Tell corporate to pay humans to help us get in and out of the motel, It is a deal breaker. It will blow up in your face. The AI check in and out. Breadkfast not great.

The room was nice, clean. but the carpet was damaged by the bathroom with tacks coming out of it. The sheets were stained. Having a remote check in agent is frustrating. First impressions are very important and the office wasn't very nice. Having a remote person handling the check in doesn't help.

Great breakfast room. Clean room. Good nights stay.

You only get room service every 3 days so stinking garbage is left in room and you want towels need to pick up at front desk. Smoke detector in room flash green all night-not just little tiny light but entire unit. Also microwave made noises when in use that made you think it was going to explode

Nice location!!!

Strange tale-check-in but it seemed to work ok. Breakfast was not ans good as at other hotels and the tables were not cleaned. Room was nice, quiet and bed was comfortable.

Superb

But the room was clean, the amenities were fine the bed was very comfortable. So a mixed review.

The actual living, breathing staff, however, was friendly and responsive. Breakfast is too heavy on carbs, with a modicum of protein provided in a commercial yogurt cup. Just a hard boiled egg or even string cheese would be appreciated. It's great if you like waffles, cereal and breads with an apple or orange. Room was adequate, carpet a bit dirty. Wi-fi not very strong. The biggest issue is WHY? You have the personnel, you have a great location and the property seemed busy the entire week I was there. Why would you 86 a front desk staff and force customers to interact with disembodied faces on a video screen, whose actual location is the Philippines?
