Cons: The walls and ceilings are very compromised, creating a miserable and exhausting experience if you want a good night's sleep. If your room happens to be adjacent to, above or below rooms where there are families with young children ( and I love kids don't get me wrong) then this is NOT the place to stay. For 3 nights, kids above us ran around like they were on a soccer field, slamming doors, jumping off of who knows what, until midnight, then they got up at 5AM and started all over again. The headboards rattled and vibrated from the activity upstairs, so having earplugs was no solution. I finally had to leave a day early so I could return home to get some sleep. I'm not unreasonable nor a complainer by nature but this stay was anything but pleasant. Seems they could have soundproofed this hotel a little better when it was built. Unfortunately, this is actually my first negative review of any place of lodging, and I've stayed in quite a few over the years. Sorry, I can't recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Great base to explore Morro Bay and surrounding area. My family and I had a great stay!

There is a staff member named Nate whose service I did not appreciate. I had came earlier in the afternoon to see if I was able to check in and there was no rooms available yet. Madison was so sweet and helpful that even though no rooms were available yet, she pre-registered me and let me leave my belongings there till I came back so when I did come back all I needed to do was let front know and I would just be giving my cards and belongings. Nate was not friendly at all and made it pretty difficult to get my cards even though I already paid and signed for my room.

The hotel met and exceeded our expectation. The staff was so professional and accommodating. The hotel room was exceptionally clean. The room included breakfast and there was a great selection of breakfast items. All in all, we absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be returning.

I really like the staff. They were very helpful. Very very nice. The food in the donkey restaurant was excellent amazing food. I was very surprised about that but very happy. Also, I did not like the fact that you had to pay for parking overnight and the place needs to be renovated the rooms were kinda run down a little bit old and they need to put some sort of a air freshener throughout the hotel because it kind of smelled a little musty, but overall, it was very nice. The staff was excellent.

Clean property, warm pool, great breakfast and comfortable beds. Nothing more to ask for than this incredible value!

The breakfast was pretty good. Nichols who greeted us as we checked in was both courteous and friendly. Nothing really, the stopper in the bathroom sink got stuck but no big deal.

Clean, quiet and great staff. Our stay could not have been better. The staff is AMAZING. They are engaged with their guest and engaging! Safe for solo travel and great for families. Cozy beds and breakfast is perfect. Quiet rooms. The coffee is great but if you must you can walk to Starbucks in a minute....but really, why. Location is perfect. Near everything and if you go to SLO jut jump on 101! Nothing perfect

Lovely 1-night stay for a wedding in town. Otters at Morro Bay a short drive away. Staff was excellent!

I have stayed at several different Holiday Inn Expresses, and there is no one that can beat the Holiday Inn Express in friendliness and cleanliness. Every employee we have interactions with are so kind and helpful. We keep returning for these reasons!
