The Padre Hotel

Very nice and comfortable hotel with great food, drink, and coffee options within. There was no gym, which I would have preferred instead of a second or third restaurant. The staff was overwhelmingly helpful and nice. The corner room was also wonderful except there were a few pieces of leather missing from the headboard, a strip of faux-cement paper missing from the coffee table, and no fitted sheets used for the mattress or available for the pull out. There were just normal (not fitted) sheets instead. These small things were just kind of odd compared to the beauty of the remainder of the room. Overall a very nice experience at this hotel, especially for this price, and I would stay here again. Completely not the hotel’s fault, but there are some homeless/drugged out people walking around outside unfortunately which was quite a contrast to the inside of the hotel. Fortunately, there is someone standing a the door at all hours and it feels safe once you get near the hotel.

Favorite place to stay in Bakersfield! Had great coffee in the am downstairs.

Fun place to stay if you need to be in downtown Bakersfield. Parking attendant and front desk personnel were helpful and pleasant. We needed pet friendly. Unfortunately pet friendly patio was closed.

Clean room,helpful staff.Didnt eat breakfast had 1/2 hrs. Drive to funeral.Grabbed great coffee/ cappuccino.Will definitely stay again when in that part of Ca. Pricy bar drinks

Amazing one night stay love this hotel. The hotel has exactly what you need good food and a beautiful bar and In a perfect area in downtown Bakersfield.

My A/C went out during my stay (100* Days) and they were prompt to move me to another room when I notified them, however the security who brought my new room key did not offer to assist me carry anything. The move occurred at midnight and they were only concerned with getting the key returned from the old room vs offering to help, which I found odd.

The Padre is the best place to stay in Bakersfield. Historic, yet renovated. Comfortable and Classically old school.
