Spark by Hilton Bakersfield Central

The hotel has a modern decoration elements, showing that some of it is remodeled although there are parts of the room that are obviously not remodeled such as the bathrooms specifically the toilet. The a/c also had a bad smell whenever it was turned on or it might have been the carpet that had odors which were magnified by the a/c. There was a strong smell of pee and I found a dead critter next to the a/c. The breakfast was decent, there were no warm food items like eggs, bacon, or sausages so plan for a lighter breakfast if you choose to eat here. There was also no pool although it advertises one on their pictures. Everything else was pretty decent, the beds and bathroom looked clean as well as the lobby, checkout is at 12pm meaning you have one extra hour compared to other places, and there is free parking. Overall it was decent if you can overlook the negatives.

Hotel is not like the photos. It’s right off a noisy highway with an active parking lot. Kind of feels like a polished motel 6. The staff was so nice thought and the continental breakfast was also good.

The area was not as sketchy as the reviews made it seem. My family felt safe. The room was pretty clean except for some candy wrappers on the floor. Breakfast was terrible. I would definitely stay at Spark again if I am passing through Bakersfield.

This hotel served its purpose, providing a bed for the night, a short morning workout in the fitness room, and a decent continental breakfast. The thing I wasn't crazy about was the location. I discovered this area of Bakersfield has many homeless people lingering about. I am sympathetic to their plight, but I didn't appreciate when a homeless woman came begging for money just outside the front door of the hotel. The hotel itself was fine, but I will not stay here again because of the homelessness situation.

No microwave in the room, Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash almost empy.
