Spark by Hilton Bakersfield Central

Everything was very nice. I wish we could have had some eggs that were cooked opposed to boiled. And maybe a Waffle or something, everything else was perfect.

The breakfast selection was sparse, no hot items.

There is no pool. Clean and helpful staff.

The first room we were assigned to smelled like urine so we moved across the haul. It still had a smell but wasn’t so strong so we settled for the one night we booked the hotel. Parking was not obvious since it shares a lot with a restaurant. Breakfast could have been better. They only served bagels, apples, bananas, boiled eggs and a variety of cereal. Was hoping for some type of protein like sausage or bacon, not just boiled eggs. They weren’t even de-shelled. Beds and pillow were comfy though but we’ll probably not come back with our little family’s

Rooms are clean but there is no pool, in this hot city the hotel should definitely have a pool. Breakfast was good.

Hotel was ok, smelled of bug spray or chemicals and dust. Coffee bar was minimal. Toilet was oddly short. Room was clean but definitely showed wear and the hall carpets are stained. Rooms are thin walled I’d guess as I could hear a baby crying.

Great staff - very accommodating. Hotel is in good central location. Clean and comfortable place with a good breakfast included.

It was good spot but breakfast horrible, only beagles and cereal. Other hotels have hot breakfast

The property is situated in a slightly run down area. The did have security on site, so I never felt at risk.

The hotel has a modern decoration elements, showing that some of it is remodeled although there are parts of the room that are obviously not remodeled such as the bathrooms specifically the toilet. The a/c also had a bad smell whenever it was turned on or it might have been the carpet that had odors which were magnified by the a/c. There was a strong smell of pee and I found a dead critter next to the a/c. The breakfast was decent, there were no warm food items like eggs, bacon, or sausages so plan for a lighter breakfast if you choose to eat here. There was also no pool although it advertises one on their pictures. Everything else was pretty decent, the beds and bathroom looked clean as well as the lobby, checkout is at 12pm meaning you have one extra hour compared to other places, and there is free parking. Overall it was decent if you can overlook the negatives.

Hotel is not like the photos. It’s right off a noisy highway with an active parking lot. Kind of feels like a polished motel 6. The staff was so nice thought and the continental breakfast was also good.
