The staff were kind so I actually debated whether to review or not . However at the nightly rate, no one should feel they are surprised on arrival. The property was very dated, no amenities, no elevated, window air conditioning only, furniture a bit unsightly, king size bed had just 2 flat pillows (more like used decorative pillows). If these were out of the property owner's control, I could understand but they aren't. Best wishes for swift improvements.

No elevators Very small rooms Dirty towels and bedsheets

I felt like I got catfished by the “hotel” it was old and gross. There’s no elevators and the narrow spiral stairs were dangerous. I booked the room for one night and stayed for about 2 hours. Worst hotel I’ve ever been in.

It’s close to being good, but just misses the mark. On the positive side, the bed linings were clean and fresh. All the interior decor is poorly finished and somewhat chintzy. The layout of the room was odd, with the sink in the middle of the space. Furnishings were threadbare and some were stained. The AC was a somewhat damaged window unit which was noisy and barely able to keep the room cool.

    very good

    It was unclean

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

The bathroom somehow managed to make even less sense. The sink wasn't even in the bathroom—it was sitting out in the room, like someone gave up halfway through the renovation and called it a day. This wasn't "vintage" or "budget-friendly." It was just rundown and unpleasant. I spent more time wondering what was lurking in the room than actually relaxing. I genuinely wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Save yourself the disappointment and book literally anywhere else.

The staff was kind and helpful, and the room was very clean.

From the moment I walked into the room, it was obvious that cleanliness was not a priority. The floors were dirty, there were stains on the furniture and bedding, the bathroom looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in weeks, and there was a musty odor throughout the room. I genuinely questioned whether the room had been cleaned before my arrival. The condition of the facility was just as bad. The hallways were damaged and poorly maintained, walls were scuffed, carpets were stained, and several areas looked like they had been neglected for years. Everything felt run-down, dirty, and frankly, gross. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I was extremely disappointed that a hotel would charge guests for accommodations in this condition. I would not recommend this property to anyone, and I will absolutely never stay here again. Save yourself the frustration and book somewhere else.

Was one of the cheapest hotels to book for a night for a concert. Hotel had an odor. Our room did not smell anything like cigarettes but a musty old smell. Room was on 1st floor so did not have to go up the staircase. Room was meh. There was 1 small baby roach in the bathroom that of course ruined my night. Bed was comfortable. Bring your own pillows. I probably would not stay again

When walking to our room, we noticed the door was left open. Upon entering the room, the room was very warm. The bathroom sink had hair on it and tooth paste on the mirror. The sheets were stained as well as the mattress. We were overall disappointed and ended up leaving. The room was not clean enough to sleep in.

I had a great time in the Mt. Vernon Inn, the staff was great and helpful with my luggage since there is not elevator but the style of the Inn is so nice and historic,. I really like it and the area which I found out is an historical area of Baltimore.

Nothing like the pictures it was dirty nasty smell terrible everything was old and not kept up to date the bedding were stain and dirty lights didn’t work tv didn’t work rug was filthy this place is trash worst then a motel

The room was very spacious and has some charm. The hotel overall has had some work done and I can't knock it off too much due to it being a historical building. One thing I did see is that the building did not have an elevator which is fine. When I arrived at the hotel, I requested a room on the second floor but somehow the rooms were not cleaned. This is very surprising since there are roughly 3 to 4 rooms per floor. If you are taller the steps will be a workout for you. Overall, I slept well and enjoyed the quietness. Some things to mention are lack of exits and room service. There is not any room service to refresh any towels or to take out trash. I stayed more than a couple of days so you can imagine a couple of days of takeout filling up the small trash can. If there is an emergency all of the windows are sealed and you would need to still, make it down the stairs which would be a lot considering there are only two ways to exit.

Good location, but rooms need a desperate upgrade. Window boxes are borderline toxic. Staff was great
