Sand Bar Cottage Inn

I really enjoyed our stay at the Sand Bar Cottage. The private bath across the hall was small, but clean. I was surprised by the condition of the toilet though. You would think that they would be able to replace a toilet seat when the porcelain starts to chip. It was a small think, but a little icky. Everything else was great. Loved the live music and the breakfast was great. Lots of conversation around the communical breakfast tables. The bread products were very tasty in the morning as well as the afternoon treats. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. Overall I would stay here again.

This property was amazing. It is across the street from the land bridge that takes you to bar island and about a 5-7 minute walk to downtown. The breakfasts were truly gourmet. We would definitely stay here again.

Charming, great staff. Good location. nothing

Team were very nice and helpful with tips about the place. the rooms are large with a lot of character yet they are in old building, and you can here every move in the other rooms They even arranged a band to play in the yard in the afternoon. They put a lot of effort in the breakfast, however it was less relevant if you don't eat classic American Bdast

We felt at home here, cared for, and welcome to relax. We met some lovely guests who were also happy with their experience. We will return for a longer vacation next time. The food is extraordinary!! There was nothing I didn't like. It was the best!

Perfect place to stay in Bar Harbor. We could walk to all the spots in town. Chris, the house manager was personable, knowledgeable and most importantly, present every day. We stayed in the top floor room #10. Bed was comfortable, air conditioning easy to regulate and the shower was outstanding!!!! Breakfast on the porch each morning was delicious and offered a savory or sweet option each day. Coffee always available. Chris arranged for live music in the garden several nights which was an unexpected bonus.

Chris the manager was terrific and staff were great. Breakfast was good but an option for something less fussy - oatmeal or soft boiled eggs would be good for ‘non Breakfast eaters.’ Nice porch to relax would have been nicer if we’d been able to purchase a glass or bottle of wine. But nitpick. Thanks for a wonderful day and 2 nights in beautiful Bar harbor.

Location is great. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing and loved afternoon tea. Rooms are very clean. Could do with furnishing and carpets updating. Great place but a little expensive for the quality of the room.

Chris was very kind and attentive. Very clean and comfortable space. Breakfast was delicious. Would be the first place we look to book next time we come to the area.

The breakfasts were a bit ordinary casserole and baked good dishes I can make at home; however, they were presented well. Also, they accommodate a special request when asked.

We loved our stay. The location was perfect - easy walking distance to downtown and just a short walk from the Bar Harbor trail sandbar that is only passable at low tide. The staff were great and the savory and sweet breakfast options were delicious! Plus the water pressure in the shower was fantastic! Would definitely stay again.

The complimentary breakfast options were perfect! Sitting on the open deck, enjoying the beautiful surroundings was very enjoyable. The waitstaff were extremely friendly and the meals came out very quickly. Fluffier pillows!

The Innkeeper and staff were friendly and so helpful. Made you feel like family. Beautiful Inn and grounds conveniently located to everything in Bar Harbor.

The staff were great, breakfast was delicious, as were the afternoon pastries! The room was beautiful and very comfortable. Location was perfect.

This bed and breakfast is in the BEST location! We had the greatest time and the staff are a 10/10!

Wish we could have stayed longer! Everything was wonderful including the staff who were warm and welcoming, and full of tips for things to do and see in the area. Our room was clean, comfortable and felt like an ocean cottage. We will absolutely be back to stay longer!

Amazing place to stay. The friendliest staff, delicious breakfast, clean and spacious room, and evening entertainment. Also in a great location, easily walkable to everything.
