Sand Bar Cottage Inn

I cannot say enough about this property! From the amazing staff, to the fine details, this is hands down one of my favorite places we’ve stayed…EVER! I loved that gf breakfast was an automatic option. The room was so spacious, and decorated with so much care. Chris, the owner talked to us at breakfast, and is so down to earth. He’s got a great thing going, and we’ll be back for sure!!!

What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff. Every person we interacted with was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and always greeted us with a smile. Their outstanding hospitality made us feel valued and at home throughout our visit. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would gladly stay here again. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay with exceptional service!

Breakfast both mornings was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The location couldn't have been better. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to do in Bar Harbor, including crossing the sandbar to the island at low tide. We also loved relaxing by the fire pits in the evenings while enjoying the live music. If you're visiting Bar Harbor or exploring Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain, I highly recommend staying at Sand Bar Cottage. It was the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, and we can't wait to return!

Beautiful inn, we stayed in the chauffeur cottage and it was just lovely. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the location is perfect.

I can’t imagine going back to Bar Harbor and not staying here again. It was just perfect. The entire property was amazing. Our room was spacious and clean. The food was delicious. The staff was as friendly and helpful as could be. The property is in a Perfect location so we never moved our car. We walked everywhere. An added bonus was the live music in the evening. The yard was lit up with twinkle lights and we were offered drinks as soon as we sat down. I can’t recommend this place enough. 10 out of 10!!!

Cozy B&B right in the heart of everything. Parking on site. Room was nice and quiet. Owner was very gracious, Walker, front desk, was so welcoming and helpful. Breakfast outstanding. Music venue in the garden one night was great with cocktail offerings. All in all, a wonderful respite! Nothing to dislike

I vacationed in Bar Harbor with my husband and grown daughter. The Inn exceeded all my expectations. The house is lovely, comfortable and in a perfect location. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. We had breakfast on the porch each morning and treats at tea time each day, I’ve really missed that since returning home. The breakfast was THE BEST! We were on the go a lot but did get to enjoy the music in the garden one evening. I had a wonderful time and hope to return someday.

This was not just a stop at B&B. It was like visiting family who catered to you with warmth caring and great food! I would revisit in a heart! Chris is the utmost in hospitality and making people happy. Such a convenient location! The perfect stay!!!!

Fantastic FULL breakfast—coffee, tea, juice, muffins, and a gourmet entree each morning. Our room was in the back “secondary” house on the second floor. The location was great, very walkable to town. Loved the live music on Friday and Saturday nights in the garden. We would definitely return!

The real winning touches here are the little details and efforts made by the staff. A fireplace that often has a welcoming fire, tea time complimentary cakes and punch, scrumptious breakfasts, and an occasional offer of live music out on the grounds. I would recommend this place for anyone who is hoping to catch that B & B/independent old inn kind of vibe during their stay in Bar Harbor.

We loved our stay. The property was well maintained and the breakfast was fantastic. It was in a great location walkable to everything. We loved all the staff. They were helpful and courteous. We will definitely stay again.

Everything. Chris, the Innkeeper and his staff are amazing. They are very personable and really make you feel comfortable. The breakfast and tea treats were exceptional.
