Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Baxter Brainerd Area

A well-run motel on the outskirts of Brainerd, with a little pool, a decent free breakfast, and a friendly and helpful staff.

There was CTC TV. The staff were all very nice. The only time I needed the floor mopped, they came right in. They otherwise don’t bother you unless you ask. I was put on the first floor when I asked, which you have to do when you check in. I didn’t have breakfast on my seven day stay but it smelled good! Unfortunately there’s only ice upstairs, and as a disabled person it wasn’t worth the effort. Wonderful shower! Little bit of mold they’re aware of and working on. (I had one of a few rooms with an older shower). There was internet in the lobby only. The freezer in the fridge had just enough space for one 12oz. can of soda but will be a lot bigger after it’s defrosted. They also have a pool which I didn’t use. Although others seemed to be enjoying it. I would have liked to have a little more space in the bathroom and a soft chair. I was very lucky to get a room the week ahead of July 4th ‘26 at the last minute! Too many people were at my small cabin, so I just needed to sleep which I did as all the guests were quiet, even kids. Vinyl flooring, very small bathroom sink and toilet area. Kinda small even for one person. No closet but a few hangers on the wall.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was pretty basic, but my kids appreciated the pancake machine and I liked the yogurt dispenser with fruit and granola toppings. The property is showing some age and the hallways smelled strongly of chlorine from the pool, but our room smelled clean and was well kept. Beds were comfortable and we slept well. Location is good: a Target store is right across the street, and several restaurants are in walking distance too. We were there to visit family in Pequot Lakes, and the hotel was just 20 minutes away, so very convenient. All things considered I was pretty happy with our stay there.

Clean and good value when visiting the raceway.

Breakfast was excellent, good variety of options. Loved the hot tub, was so relaxing.

1) The remote on the TV didn’t work. When I responded to what was in retrospect likely an automated text from Wyndham corporate asking if there was anything they could do to improve my stay, I got an immediate text back saying “ Sorry we don't have anyone available at this moment. We will get back to you as soon as possible.” Hmmph. 2) This is par for the course at these sort of hotels but the jets didn’t work in the hot tub. I was kind of looking forward to that after my marathon. Other than that, the Days Inn is a great bargain when staying in the Brainerd / Baxter area and would recommend.

The man who checked me in was awesome. Maybe one of the best I’ve seen.

Clean property with nice staff. Older building and not a great breakfast but most free breakfast isn’t great. Over all was good for one night. Clean room. Pool and hot tub were nice.

Breakfast was dreadful. The staff allowed children to run screaming down the halls in the LATE evening.

Outside the hotel needs some cement work done on porch supports. The room I had was clean and nice. The floor on the second floor was soft in front of the elevator; Breakfast is not included, just coffee. The hotel was nice, but in need of repairs by the owner. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
