Our trip to The Cascade Lodge in Bend was outstanding! The room was great and very clean, plus the team was so nice through the stay. This is the only place we will book when visiting Bend.

Arrived exhausted at 11 pm for my prepaid room at their allegedly 24 hour front desk. Door is locked, no one in sight. Rang BOTH “night bells” repeatedly with no response. I could hear one of them ringing. No note on the door, nothing. Continued knocking on the door and ringing bell. Another customer also arrives trying to check in to his also prepaid room. He was even more angry than me, and I am the one who has already been waiting 20 minutes. He also pounds on the door and rings the bells with no response. He calls Expedia, I call the police. Police will do nothing for me as a customer but will come for a welfare check to make sure no one is dead in there. Other customer is on hold with Expedia and I am on my phone looking for another room. Eventually (perhaps 30 minutes after I arrived) a dark complected (hopefully that is PC) man pulls up and in no hurry saunters up to the door and unlocks it. No apology. He EVENTUALLY finds my reservation and gives me a room after requiring a credit card and making me fill out a form with information he already has. Other customer is requesting a refund. I would complain to his boss but I suspect he is the owner because in the morning I see him opening and checking rooms. Pool did not look clean. Carpet and upholstery in the room were filthy. Sheets and bathroom looked clean. I told him the very least he could do is leave a note on the door if he leaves. Stay elsewhere.

Very clean and updated rooms, friendly staff and extra nice grassy, fenced dog area. All pillows are quite firm. Would appreciate a few softer ones.

Would have been wonderful to partake of the heated pool --- but it was somewhat overwhelmed by youth that were enjoying themselves. I suspect they would have calmed down from their fun if strangers had also joined them; didn't want to stop their fun.

A good value for Bend, which is more expensive because it’s a bustling recreational and outdoorsy town. The front desk manager was friendly and helpful and upgraded me to a larger room that was available for the same price.
