Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bethel/Danbury

Checking in wasnt a great experience as three other guests, two men and a woman, had clearly been partaking in some substances, and while I cant fault the counter staff she could've asked the crackheads to step aside to sort out their pay method, since I had a prepaid reservation and just needed a room key. Continental breakfast was cereal, waffle batter and coffee/milk.

One of the factors in choosing to stay at this property was parking for a car towing a trailer. When I arrived, I was directed to what I can only describe as an alley and was told there were two spaces between the dumpsters that I would park. It had been raining heavily the entire day and appeared to have a 6 inch puddle everywhere in that area so I parked elsewhere. The general condition of the hotel itself was definitely in need of repair. There were a couple of areas of the carpet that were worn to the threads. One location. There was an obvious dip underneath it being near the door. I think it was possibly a drain underneath the carpet. Itself left lots to be desired. The exterior wall with the window was no more than 6 feet from the parking. Within the bathroom, there was no towel rack anywhere so if you wanted to use your washcloth and hang it for a later use, there was no possibility of that. The microwave in the room had mismatched microwave plate and the rotating element so that when you turned it on, nothing rotated because they were two separate components. The breakfast area was small about the only thing that I felt comfortable with were the yogurts, which of course were prepackaged . My honest opinion and what I have told to anyone I’ve spoken to about our stay here is I consider this property a Motel 6 Plus

Breakfast was OK but happy to have it available to get started in the AM. (*Please offer honey or another jam option for the continental breakfast- the dispenser was filled, but only with grape jam) I liked that they had good clementine oranges as a fresh fruit option. The hotel is near some food options for dinner or lunch, and a 10 min drive to Danbury Center. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Parking was ok, breakfast was ok. The carpets in the room and in the hallway are old and look quite dirty.

I'm anxiously awaiting a refund of a couple of Deposits. Please review and expedite.

I've stayed at this particular Microtel many times and never had any serious complaints. It was priced moderately, the room was clean and comfortable, the staff was nice, it was well located. This time out the upkeep on the premises itself had noticeably declined. Frayed carpeting, chips of enamel falling off our bathtub, obvious water damage to the ceiling in the hallway near our room. But most troubling was the incurable dampness in our room. You could feel it the moment you walked in the room. Our sheets were damp as if they had been taken out of the dryer too early. The clothing we left out of our suitcase was damp in the morning. Upon getting my iPhone which I had left charging overnight there was a "could not complete charging. liquid identified on the lightning connector"warning message. I had never in my life seen that warning. Wyndham needs to thoroughly examine this particular motel and do some serious renovation and maintenance.

The main pluses were a convenient location, a relatively low nightly rate, and a clean room. In the minus column, the suite was small, the queen-sized bed seemed tighter than expected, the A/C unit was too close to the bed, and there were no drawers to store clothing. Also, the continental breakfast is not a good choice for someone who is Gluten Free.

Clean and spacious rooms

The room, including bathroom, was perfectly clean. There were refillable containers for soap and lotion affixed to the bathroom wall over the sink, which was as very nice. The area around the hotel seems very nice, and safe. The driveway out onto the main road even has a traffic light, making it really easy to get in and out of the parking lot.

It is not good as I expected looking the pics . Inside the room carpets are dirty and tear off and room was stinky. It is expensive as per the service provided. No pool and no any other amenities.

Cool looking room. Tv was too small and the lobby smelled like poop and cleaner.

It is a well-worn hotel with the usual weird smells and dark hallways. Generally clean, but in need of some sprucing up. Pretty quiet on a Wednesday night. It works for having a dog.

The staff went out of their way to return an item left at the hotel. Great job!

I was given a handicap room and the shower was horrible the water hose kept going sideways wetting the floor

There is no fitness center on site, but they do give access to a local full service gym which is nice. But then you do have to drive there.

The staff were amazing

The hotel needs some updating. The room could have used more lighting. The carpet in our room had something tacky on it and the floors were not very clean. I was unable to walk bare/sock footed in the room without getting my feet dirty. The bathroom shower, floor, and ceiling had mildew.
