My second time at Chetola was as wonderful as my first stay. I look forward to returning again.

Soap/shampoo dispenser in shower was completely empty, which I was sad because it smelled so good (the conditioner anyway) Otherwise the room was spacious, clean, and we were happy.

Chetola is a very old, outdated and tired facility. They have no real amenities. The swimming pool is a dark inside pool. The restaurant is still under renovations and was closed (since before May).

Loved the room, pool and disc golf course
-
The resort only served breakfast. This was a little inconvenient not being able to get dinner on site.

Property is stunning. Current construction with a new bar kept the restaurant open only limited days. And seemed open for only breakfast on Sunday which is the day we arrived. There are several close food options in BR. Just plan accordingly for meals or bring food in with you to avoid being tired on your day of arrival.

the rooms

Way overpriced for what it offers. The property is showing its age, and the "mountain view" room overlooked the parking lot rather than the mountains.

Love this place! Clean room and premises. Very friendly supportive staff. Very much appreciated relaxing in the chairs at night beside the lake. My children enjoyed kayaking and water biking the lake. I highly recommend Chetola!

It was wonderful ! We will be back.

Room was comfortable and would consider returning, especially after renovations are completed.

Amazing property, we will definitely be back!

This hotel is nice and in a beautiful location. It is close to Main Street Blowing Rock with its many shops and restaurants. Unfortunately the hotel restaurant was closed for renovations which we did not know when we booked. That was a disappointment. If you like to travel with your dog, this is the place for you.

This property is amazing and the room we got, which was facing the lake was absolutely perfect. I would not recommend the historic rooms because the windows don’t open easily. We were originally scheduled for that room, but the front desk was able to get us moved to a room with a balcony. We will definitely plan a trip back.

For my 80th birthday, we decided to splurge and stay in a suite at Chetola resort from Monday to Friday. When booking, we were warned that the restaurant would not open until Thursday – the birthday - and made a reservation for that night. The concierge said that “bar food”, such as hamburgers, would be available all the other nights, and breakfast, while not included, every morning. Not true. No bar food the night we arrived or any other night, although the desk personnel didn’t seem to know it and even promised us a menu. We expressed our frustration and were comped a breakfast, at which we learned future breakfasts were out, and our dinner was in question. They’d let us know “in a minute.” Four hours later, we learned we’d have to go elsewhere. Our refrigerator didn’t work, and all the ice machines were broken, so nothing that could spoil. The cleaner offered to bring us cold cokes from the vending machine. The house phone didn’t work. We still heard a lot of excuses. Blowing Rock is beautiful, with lots to do, and we had a great vacation. Chetola is beautiful. Our room is beautiful. We could see waterfowl and planets from our balcony. We enjoyed the large indoor swimming pool, and others may enjoy the hot tub and spa amenities. Hopefully, management will get their act together and solve the problems, but first, stop misleading guests.

Beautiful location and very nice hotel. My room was not ready at check-in time so the young lady at the front desk was kind enough to put me into a different room. Unfortunately the restaurant was not open nor was it open the following day which is not convenient at all for guests. The hot water was not working in the bathroom and apparently there were a few complaints from other guests as well. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable.
