The shower was unexpectedly large and I really appreciated it. The bed was very comfortable. The towels were scratchy.

I loved this place. It was quirky and clean and, well, modern. I wasn't expecting to be able to check out a bicycle, but it was a perfect way to get around flat downtown Boise. The location was great and I loved the gnome holding up the record player in the bathroom off the front desk. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was good too. One of my favorite stays on a long road trip and reasonably priced as well!

Staff was on-point, from receptionist to bartender. The queen suite was very clean and well-appointed, with decent sunny views, and unique mid-century styling. Although I didn't use the free hotel bicycles, they are a fun perk that I'll use next time! Also, great location, easy parking situation, and overall well- designed property.

I’m already thinking of an excuse to come back here! Love the mid century modern touches. The room was spotless and the beds were comfortable. No sad waffles and bad coffee here—the free continental breakfast featured GOOD coffee and homemade granola.

Lovely and personable staff, this made our stay very warm and comfortable. I genuinely loved the attention to detail with the art on display in the lobby/breakfast/dining area by local artists and quality coffee/breakfast offered in the morning by the warm hostess. We loved the room it was updated but non pretentious atmosphere, it did not feel cookie cutter and commercial like most hotels. My next trip to Boise will include another few nights stay, it really added to our road trip.

Small but accommodating staff is always welcoming and helpful. Food is excellent and breakfast is above and beyond. Inner hallway always smells damp.

Location and Parking

Great little updated motel. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Nice walk-in shower. Would stay here again.

The Modern is getting a bit long in the tooth these days. Could use some nips and tucks, but overall is a good place to stay and fits the price point.

We really liked the location. It was fairly quiet, but within walking distance to restaurants and the green belt. We loved the complimentary use of bikes for riding along the green belt. It was only a few blocks to get to the trail and was a great way to end the day. Staff was very friendly. I greatly enjoyed eating off "real" plates with actual silverware for breakfast. I loved the aesthetic-room just looked "put together" and I love the idea of refurbishing an older hotel. Room size was nice and the mattress was great. Can't think of a thing!

there was some miscommunication between the staff surrounding when guests can use the outside patio space. it was just after 10pm and wanted to play cards outside, one staff member said we could be out there as late as we want to be as long as we were quiet, another employee spotted us and immediately sent us back to our room. weird. we also purchases add-ons (pet fee + bar gift card) and were charged twice for these purchases. I did reached out days later and the hotel was quick to respond and fix this. overall: great location and really good drinks, but not worth the price!! ;)

Everything about this experience was perfect and the neighborhood was safe, clean and close to everything I needed.

There are newer, nicer hotels so their pricing is maybe a tad high… but I do love The Modern.
