Beautiful old house and great breakfast! Friendly staff!

A historically preserved marvel, with a perfectly manicured property, a rustic barn for events, and a cozy, private cabin. The aesthetic is beautiful and serene, with an array of colors speckling the landscape during our autumn stay. I also appreciated the solar energy. Now the breakfast and the staff? Sublime. Utterly perfect, and I cannot wait to taste the next season’s delicacy during my next stay. How brief my first stay was.

Clean and well maintained. Caleb did a great job explaining everything.

Wonderful staff will do whatever is possible to accommodate any special requests. Arriving by car, be careful to do a hairpin turn if approaching from the Main Street… not a problem but good to know.

Breakfast was outstanding! Delicious and nicely presented. Ice bags were always available and much appreciated.

The staff and owner were pleasant and welcoming. We enjoyed learning about the history of the house. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent! We didn't know, in advance, that the television operated primarily through use of apps. Had we known, we would have had login info to watch some of the football playoffs during the afternoon.

From the moment we drove into the parking lot the Inn just felt like we had stepped into a Hallmark movie. The holiday decor is lovely, the staff warm and friendly, and Alison’s historical tour was so meaningful to a former AppState professor and family. There were even freshly baked chocolate peppermint cookies waiting for us. Our suite was roomy, clean, homey, and a great place to laugh and play games with our son and daughter-in-law. Breakfast in the morning was superb! The staff went above and beyond our entire stay. We left our coats in the suite closet and Alison took care of shipping them to us. Quality service such as this is hard to come by anymore - Thank you Lovell House ladies and Happy Holidays! Nothing

.upon entry told we had to participate in a house tour before seeing our room. .way too much emphasis on the inn not using plastic. .at $300 per night being told to leave a tip and then told how much to leave was awkward, alarming and disappointing. .vegetables were dated in the breakfast served. .too many personal questions asked in advance of our arrival. .the room was very very very cold. told to open the window to let warm air in. .the windows were very difficult to open and the window did not stay open.

Beautiful! Loved it all!

Cool History, very comfy bed and room, MASSAGE was amazing, staff was great, the property/grounds were lovely, and house had a lot of character and history. Breakfast was pretty simple and light, we were still hungry, we thought there would be more choices and food served.

The Lovill House Inn is a simple wood frame historical building in the beautiful mountain setting of Boone, NC, with outsized comfort, truly exceptional food, and remarkable ecological commitment and capacity. I will start with what impressed me most: the memorably gourmet breakfast included an omelet with ramps foraged by staff! The breakfast was the best meal I have ever had at an inn. It included a "dreamsicle crisp," which had us all exclaiming out loud. The inn gives onto 11 miles of mountain trails, and there is a waterfall in the backyard! The beds were superbly comfortable, and the rooms all suite-like and spacious. The living room had a rocking chair my grandmother had in her living room! My one single preference would have been for less phone contact with staff prior to the visit. I felt a bit micro-managed. But I understand that staff are putting their all into creating a flawless experience.
