The hotel is a very nice place to stay. It's beautiful a quite grand! Understand though, there will be construction going on during the day as the entire property is being renovated. I would assume this would take years.

The property was delightful. The staff was excellent, especially Denny at the Reception Desk. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Jim, the General Manager, and Mark, the Food and Beverage Manager. Great staff and, in my opinion, definitely a historic, beautiful facility with unlimited potential!

We enjoyed the history of the hotel as a former asylum. There was so much history to explore on the grounds and in the building. Our original stay was for 2 nights but we extended our stay by an extra night to take advantage of the hard hat tour of the rest of the asylum buildings. The building architecture is amazing. We are enjoying our stay.
-
unique and memorable place to stay. a fully renovated centre-block for the hotel (beautiful) with some slightly spooky, atmospheric buildings adjacent. architecture exhibit on ground floor with history of the place-- engaging!nice restaurant, clean rooms, friendly staff. close to art gallery. free parking. fun place to stay in buffalo!

I've traveled all over the world in great hotels. It doesn't matter how many stars; it's the first impression that makes it. Finding my room was very confusing, having to walk through

We really enjoyed our stay at The Richardson Hotel. It is an extremely unique property, and I wish that we had more time to explore it. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly. The only downside was our breakfast. We waited a long time for our food, and it wasn’t very good. It appeared that they were very short-staffed in the dining room. It was the morning of big Pride Parade however, so maybe people called in sick? Anyway, I would definitely stay there again, but I would go out for breakfast.

Enjoyed the stay! We will be back!
-
I stayed for only one night but I liked the historic flavor of the place. It was very quiet and good for reading. Very peaceful. I'll be back.

What a cool place to stay! It's so impressive; like being in a museum. The video about the renovation is extremely well-done and so educational. It was raining most of the time we were there so we didn't get a chance to tour the grounds. The hotel is very close to a little business district with plenty of eating areas. Again we didn't get to explore too much because of the hard rain.
-
Beautiful historic landmark in Buffalo . Hotel was filled with history . We took the tour that was offered. Very interesting . Rooms were spacious and very quiet . Great location ! Would definitely stay again .
-
The property was very unique. I love the architecture of the building, but it did not have the amenities that you're used to at a hotel.
-
Fascinating conversion of building and repurposing. The bar was exceptional. The room was average. Location was somewhat sketchy but safe.
-
dusty room no hand soap🗿 breakfast is not included, we bought it and it was terrible(the food is terrible and the service was soo poor) i called stuff and asked if they could bring me 2 forks and they answered we have them downstairs, so i had to go and search for forks by myself wearing my pajamas the room is very small and we could find where to charge our phones because almost every charger was broken.

Hotel was very beautiful and beds were very comfortable.
