That was simply unacceptable. We were expected to spend the day without a room to shower, change clothes, rest, or secure our belongings because of the hotel's mistake. Rather than lose an entire day of our vacation waiting for a room, we checked out and moved to a Marriott property that checked us in immediately. Hotels.com eventually refunded our stay, but only after more than an hour on the phone late that night and a request to speak with a manager. While we appreciated the refund, it did not make up for the disruption and stress. The Richardson is a beautiful hotel, but this experience and the way it was handled ultimately ruined our vacation.

Take the tour when you stay (only offered on Saturdays and Sundays) so that you can hear about its rich history AND see the closed off portion of the former institution. I would go back here for another long weekend in a minute!

The room was very nice, the hotel smelled amazing, it was very quiet as well. and the location was very convenient!

Tha hotel was clean. The staff were nice. We didn't use the amenities. The room was clean and nice but very small.

What a beautiful property, hard to believe it was part of an insane asylum campus. It has been turned into a to a lovely, modern hotel. The room was small but had everything you could possibly need. I will definitely stay there tge next time I am in the Buffalo area.

Parking is close, the hallways and halls are wide, well lit and filled with real art and paintings. There was even nooks and sittings areas in each great hallway to sit with friends or family. The room was super quiet and everything was new and comfortable. A memorable stay.

The property is wonderful! It is like staying in an art gallery. The rooms are very comfortable and I recommend ordering the breakfast from the menu.
-
Outstanding in every way. Amazing property, spotless room, comfy beds, fun and friendly staff, and inspiring repurposing of a historic space. We have already booked our next stay!

The Place is spectacular with heritage mixing modern living. Very spacious and delightfully decorated. I worked in many hotels and I would still want to stay in this hotel next time. Richardson is classy, special, and carries well trained staff. My kids also thinks it looks like the Harry Potter castle. Only Richardson is more modern and not as big as it seems. Would be even more perfect if the other construction and buildings nearby are functional giving a more fuller community. Now the hotel is quiet at night. There aren't much amenities to be honest but it is perfect for a quiet getaway or buddies gathering for night-long catch up as there are many common areas that are like a high end restaurant.

Beautiful place. I had no idea how beautiful it was when I booked the hotel.

Everything was real nice.

The history Staff needs to inform about tours of the favility as soon as guests arrive so they do not miss on the only tour at 10am.
-
The gym was not that great too… However, the property was amazing and I would definitely stay again and recommended to all.
-
Great ambience. Clean rooms … helpful staff. Beautiful room windows and rec areas including outdoor spaces. Will def stay again. The history is rich and plentiful too with a great spot just a block away for grabbing a bite to eat and / or a drink too!

Very cool history and old architecture! Food was average. Chicken seemed it was frozen food, not fresh. The bar didn't have beer selection and why don't you have local brewery beers?⁸
