AC Hotel by Marriott Boston Cambridge

Super late check in, had to wait in the lobby at 1am for staff to clean the room

Comfortable wide room. Comfortable bed. Cleaning was ok at arrival, but no cleaning in three nights (but available on request I believe). safe box for 15 inches laptop. large shower with hand shower. Good breakfast for 21$+taxes. The pool was small and not hot, eventually I did not used it. The location is in the Cambridge Innovation park, which is tidy and green, so the atmosphere is relaxing, but nothing to do around. Alewife metro station is 5 minutes walk. The staff was kind. Complimentary coffee in the morning and water in the evening. Overall I had a nice stay. I could have late check-out - very appreciated. Where I had a very annoying experience was with their payment and communication system. After booking by booking.com ma card was unexpectedly charged the following day (not clear if it was a charge or a pre-charge). Anyway, I tried to contact the hotel via booking.com messaging and did not get any answer, until I contacted booking.com customer service (which by the way is not very reactive, and only by form/email). I could not solve the double charge until I was there for check-in, when by the way it took long time as my confirmed second reservation (for day2 and 3) on booking.com was not visible on their system. At the check-out it was cumbersome to get a proper folio - notwithstanding the staff did their best to solve -, which I needed as I was travelling for business. All these very spoiled my experience, which otherwise would have been good. The hotel management should carefully consider upgrading their booking/communication/payment IT system. Also I would have liked to pay my extra cash, but the hotel is cashless.

It was a very quiet place When we realize the location we were in, it was too far away from many of the things we wanted to do like baseball games. We try to exchange our stay with that one because they’re both Marriott hotels and they would not do it unless we paid an extra $500.

The hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the Alewife station on the Red line. This is also 10 minutes walk from the mall with Trader Joe’s, Wholefoods, CVS… which is very convenient. It is also just along the Minuteman bikeway if you want to have a walk or need to go running. The mattress is too gift for me I prefer firm ones. $21 for a breakfast is too expensive.

This was by far my favorite stay so far in the Cambridge area! from the location to the warm, welcome by Casey at the front desk and everything in between it was wonderful!

Very near the red line. AC Lounge food is good and reasonably priced. Skip breakfast in the AC Kitchen. Overpriced. Weak coffee. Broken Nespresso machine.

Awesome overall experience. Beautiful lobby and dining areas. Breakfast buffet and the meatballs on the bar menu were delicious. Convenient parking garage and nice park area to walk around. Staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Room was very modern and clean with great air conditioning (I like it cold when I sleep).

The room was very clean, and the staff were very courteous, accommodating, and helpful. The indoor temperature of the hotel was consistently frigid for September weather- and this seemed to extend to our room as there were two temperatures: freezing cold or uncomfortably warm - even after adjusting the wall thermostat. (Any temperature setting below 70F seemed much colder than the thermostat temp indicated.) The elevators constantly reeked of a strong marijuana odor, and this was particularly unwelcomed and overwhelming especially when traveling with children. The last issue would be the swimming pool: the water temperature was extremely cold for such a small pool.
