Check-in time is 3 PM but the room was not ready until about 4:45 PM.

Room was clean and well equipped, however the entire room was vibrating constantly, presumably due to some machinery nearby, possibly the air conditioning. The latch on the door was actually rattling around until I unhooked it. I unplugged the fridge, which was causing some of the problem, but there was still underlying noise and vibration. I could feel it through my feet when I took my shoes off. I probably should have complained and asked for another room, but I was tired and only staying for one night so I just put earplugs in and put up with it. I'm not sure whether I was just unlucky with the room I was allocated or this is a common problem.

Too many hidden fees. Shame on Kimpton Marlowe and Expedia

clean rooms, upkept property elevator was broken, had to lug luggage up stairs. not much urgency to fix it

Great spot for a getaway! I’ll be back for sure.

Perfect location, easy walk to Northend Boston and MIT. Great food locations within 20 minutes of walking. They had a really nice private outdoor area and an amazing cocktail hour.

The location was great for what we needed to do. The staff is super friendly. And the room was great. The beds were super comfortable and we loved the pillows. And the restaurant is fantastic! I got the swordfish with couscous and it was the best swordfish I’ve ever had. My only complaint is that there was hair on the wall in the shower stall and when the Jacuzzi tub is running, it is so loud even with all the doors closed. I had the tv up to 50 and could barely hear it. Wish it was a little bit more soundproof. We could hear the people above us as well walking around.

Our stay at the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel was absolutely wonderful. The staff were fantastic from start to finish and truly made us feel welcomed throughout our stay. The amenities were excellent and added to the overall experience. While the bathroom could have used a little TLC, everything was very clean and well maintained. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend staying at this property.

The location is great, and the facilities were in good condition. The room was overall comfortable - good bed, hot shower, etc. Some of the front desk staff were super helpful. We would probably stay here again if the price is right. Our experiences with the reception desk staff were uneven. Two staff members were *super* helpful - above and beyond, while the rest seemed annoyed or indifferent - not quite the 4-star service expected for a Kimpton. The only downside of the room itself was that the blackout curtains didn't really hold back the light very well around the margins.

Hotel was clean, modern and located convenient to things. Food from the restaurant was good, but the hostess was not friendly at all. Just about threw the to go bag and walked away. We only had 1 towel and no wash clothes in our room. The shower handle was broken and barely worked and there was mold in the shower mortar.

Location was great because it was next door to a small, nice mall with stores like Aldo, Victoria’s Secret, TJMaxx, Footlocker, CVS, etc. it also had a Cheesecake Factory where we had brunch and dinner. Convenient if you have forgotten to bring things with you as you can buy them from those stores! I am not sure why the second night, both my kids and I had severe asthmatic symptoms requiring us to take our inhalers every 2 hours. I had noticed condensation on the window sills, windows obviously were unable to open, no balcony, and once we turned the heat on a little, we felt suffocated. I’m not sure if it was the carpeting- which I specifically look for hotels with no carpeting especially being pet friendly- or dust since I noticed it in the vent above the shower, or possible mold we could not see. It was very difficult to pinpoint because the hotel seemed so clean and nice/upscale. I’m really not sure what did it, but it took us a good 10 hours after leaving the hotel to start feeling better but my chest is still a bit tight. I am allergic to dust mites, pet dander (I have a toy poodle that does not cause allergies), and mold. This was the main downfall of the hotel. The other would be that there isn’t much else to walk to and eat if it’s cold outside. I would probably prefer to stay in Boston next time. Otherwise, the hotel had great staff, chargers for our phones if forgotten. They also charge 30$ per day “amenity fee” which I think is a little ridiculous because it should be included in the stay! Out of that fee, they give you a 10$ per day credit that you can use at the restaurant inside the hotel or the snack bar they have available.
