The breakfast was wonderful and we also had lunch. The food I give 9.5…Delicious

Everything about our stay was first rate. The service and helpfulness of the staff, the beautiful Mediterranean gem preserved, the bountiful breakfast , the common areas, the welcoming of dogs with water bowls and blankets all made it unforgettable.

Beautiful property with a lot of charm and character. The room that we booked last minute was small but adequate. Breakfast was included and good. The outdoor sitting space was very relaxing and beautiful. The staff were very courteous and very helpful. Overall a wonderful stay.

The hotel is great. Very charming. Our $450 room was a tiny box with no charm. For that price, the least they could do is provide bath robes (like other hotels do who charge that much.)

Charming environment. The lobby/guest sitting area is more like a living room that people are attracted to and want to use. There is a welcoming fire in the fireplace. It is an older place, so you need to be OK with room windows that let in some outside noise. Some rooms over the courtyard are situated just above a walkway to the courtyard that guests and staff use frequently. But the rooms are charming.

The location was fabulous and so was the exterior and interior of the historic hotel. My mistake was booking a room on the first floor. Although convenient , it was noisy due to the outside dining patio being right outside our door. Also, the bathroom was tiny between the sink and toilet~ no space for vanity items.

the place was pet friendly. restaurant onsite. location was great. somehow I missed the memo about parking. Need to call early as 7am to reserve parking. If missed reservation then find parking on the street which is very limited.

We loved our stay! We will definitely stay here again!

Just a heads up the toilet needs fixing in 201 - if you don’t lower the lever all the way down the water runs. The staff were lovely - especially the woman with short hair at front desk in the mornings (I think Kathleen is her name) It’s a bit pricey per night is all

Location and history No air conditioning. Breakfast not actually ready at 7

Unbeatable location right in the middle of town. Homey, welcoming atmosphere that quickly makes guests feel at home. Upscale fellow guests as judged by their quiet demeanor and friendly vibe. Rooms are small. Noise insulation between guestrooms is poor, could hear a dog next door yapping constantly for an hour or more. If a hotel is determined to be pet-friendly, it should be proactive about suppressing annoyances. While walking down a corridor, I could easily hear and understand conversations taking place inside rooms. Mobile phone use should not be allowed in public areas. It lowers the tone of the hotel.

Excellent wide variety of food items, clean, pretty setting, staff very attentive, loved the popovers! Bathroom small but it worked

Very nice, relaxed. Great as an included feature. Nice that the bar could fix an eye-opener size of TV in room was very small. A minor nit.

the pop overs were hot out of the oven and amazing to have every morning with my coffee. The location is perfect and the entertainment at night on Friday and Saturday nights was spectacular. What a bonus to have that kind of fun and then be able to walk to our room. We had never stayed at this hotel before just got a standard room for the two of us. The location of the room was pretty much in the worst location on the first floor directly across from public bathrooms. All night long we heard people going in an out of the bathrooms. And since the hallways are very small (I could touch each wall flat handed) the noise was quite loud. To make matters worse, the windows opened up to an ally way that the workers used to move around which meant we got noise from both directions of our tiny room. Next time I would request a better room.

Location in downtown Carmel Dog friendly Nice, ‘normal’, friendly ( everyone smiles!) 0

No refrigerator in room..room was hot at night
-
I liked the overall vibe - with Doris Day movie posters everywhere, period music in the public areas, along with the period movies playing at the bar. The room was not the best - facing the courtyard where the restaurant is. It was kind of noisy when we wanted to briefly relax after our drive before heading out to dinner. Breakfast is nothing to write home about.

Very good

We loved seeing people’s dogs which are allowed in the hotel. The staff were all friendly.
