Mold in bathroom by shower, old motel, loud AC, reservation error (booked king, received 2 double), problem locking door when leaving & phone didn’t work well.

The town of Cedar Rapids is getting a data center installed. The construction workers are staying at the hotel so it is at full occupancy. The room we were in looked like they were renovating it but they had not finished the job. There was spackle all over the wall in the bathroom. The handle to the shower kept pulling off. The mattresses were old and you could feel the springs. Not a great experience. But the place was pretty quiet so that was good.

Only as a last resort

Paid for a nicer room, got the smallest room instead that was dirty with no fridge or microwave even.

Room smelled like smoke. Microwave and fridge can't be plugged in at the same time. Couldn't figure out the TV. Bath faucet leaked.

The tv worked part of our stay and then it stopped working all together.

this is the first bad review i've made. i didn't expect much from a motel 6 but what we walked into was disgusting. from the 30 minutes we were in the room we saw very visible black fuzzy mold above the window, mystery splatters on the walls, a loose floor board my 2yo tripped over, dirty microwave, nightstand/head board had spots on it, toilet had stuff on the seat/bowl, i took one swipe on the floor with a rag and it was black so clearly it wasn't cleaned. obviously when you book at a motel you don't expect luxury but i do expect at minimum basic cleanliness. the only good thing was they reluctantly refunded us the full amount after i brought up the black mold being a huge health hazard especially with us having young children. the amount of money they're making after hiking up their prices due to an influx of people from new workers at the plant, it's very obvious they aren't putting any of it back into the building.

This is a dive- rooms smell really bad and the bed was worse than a board

The beds were rock hard and very uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. To make matters worse, there appeared to be black mold in the shower area. Because of the condition of the bathroom, we did not feel comfortable using the shower at all. Cleanliness and comfort are the bare minimum expectations when staying at a hotel, and unfortunately this property failed on both. We would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to others.

Only one channel on the TV. Maint. came up and fixed the channels but didn’t program the remote so no volume control. Motel is very old and worn. Front desk staff were nice enough, but after Ubering to & from the hotel & airport, it would have definitely been more cost effective to stay at a nicer hotel with a shuttle & free breakfast.

Convenient location, clean facility and fair price. Multiple people loitering in parking lot, some guests were grilling outside their door after midnight and talking loudly until 3:00 am.

Disappointing

A lot of noise and random fights

The staff was pleasant, but the place and our room was a DUMP! Mold in the bathroom. VERY dirty! The refrigerator and microwave did not work. The place was run down and the proprietors, although nice, seemed oblivious to the way the entire place was kept up. The worst experience I have ever had staying at a motel. I would suggest you pass this one by. Spend a little more. Truth.

This was a motel to lay our heads. I was pretty disappointed when we were leaving I couldn't get in the office area to get a cup of coffee. Staff was friendly
