When we went to put our dinner in the fridge in the room for later, a gigantic cockroach came out. I screamed, my husband killed it and was getting ready to go to the front desk when another one came out so he killed that one too. He went to the front desk and showed them the towel they were wrapped in and asked to be reimbursed for this. They offered to have us switch rooms and we felt like that wasn't really going to solve anything if there were cockroaches on the top floor already. The staff said the manager would be in at 9am. After a restless night of being grossed out and barely sleeping, we woke at 5 am to go to an activity that was the whole reason for the trip. We followed up around 10am and were told by that manager that another manager would have to handle it. At this point we are being given the run around. We didn't take advantage of the free breakfast or eat the food in our room so we spent way more than we planned on meals. The bathroom sink also did not have working hot water. We didn't expect anything fancy but clean with hot water is kind of a must.

Location was very convenient to UVA Hospital, allowing us to arrive the night before an appointment and proceed the next morning without traffic worries. The facility was quite clean (as advertised), and the front desk staff very accommodating. Highly recommend this hotel. Great stay and value for the money.
