Oakhurst Inn at the University

One of the best hotel visits we have ever had!! What a wonderful property and staff!!!

Historical charm, clean, modern, and kind staff. We’ve read mixed reviews, but honestly we didn’t run into any mentioned problems: valet parking was very fast and attentive, room is quiet for us because we were not at the main building. Room is very small and noise proof is almost nonexistent, but they are common problems for historical buildings

Staff was pleasant and check-in was smooth. Parking was a little hit or miss but they do have valet if it's full. Our room smelled like sewage. It was clearly coming from the bathroom and we informed staff as soon as we checked in. Nothing was fine for the stay. We tried running the hot water in the shower to help and it didn't do much. It made the living room and bedroom smell as well. We informed the staff the next morning as well and nothing was done. The rooms were dusty and not well cleaned.Bed and pillows uncomfortable. Also a lot of road noise comes through the single pane windows.

Beautiful inn situated in a park setting walking distance to UVA and downtown. Fantastic on-site breakfast/brunch cade. Friendly, helpful staff.

This is a neat Inn. It's very nice and very well maintained and has character. The suite was perfect for my wife and me. The bed was very comfortable. The public spaces in the main house were very nice & the coffee was excellent! Nothing, really.

Great location. Cute rooms. Staff was wonderful. Pool was lovely. Lots of positives here. We would stay again. Parking was not included, which was not expected and was somewhat pricy, so if you have a car factor this in.

Oakhurst was so helpful as we navigated a family member in the hospital at UVA! Within 10-12 minutes walk of the hospital it was a blessing!

Had a great stay while visiting my daughter who is Eva. Staff is super helpful and the property is in a perfect location to walk to everything around around the campus. Loved all the comment spaces to lounge or do work. Outdoor pool is a bonus and a nice extra spot to relax.

Staff... Fantastic Cleanliness - Superb Amenities.. .we enjoyed wine by the courtyard pool and the evening lighting... lovely way to end our driving day. Valet parking is a plus - WIFI was reliable & likely suitable for business use. Love the historic feel - preserved hardwood floors, railings, exposed plumbing ... all part of the ambiance.. can imagine UVA students in these buildings many decades ago. Need ADA - don't leave to chance.. call & ask. Location - great to walk UVA & pedestrian area - 2-3 miles total Easy to 64 & getting to Monticello We'd stay again... probably a fun spot if you're in town for a game or a UVA function. Well done!

We enjoyed our stay and its location is in walking distance from the UVA medical center we had an appointment at. We are in our 70s and 80s and were not aware we would be in a building across the street from the main building and up a steep flight of stairs. We did not notice when we booked that this Inn is on a campus of more than one building and has no elevators. That being said, it was wonderful to have a living area with comfortable chairs and a desk right down the hall from us. The room itself was comfortable and clean. The staff were very fabulous and helpful and there was a jazz trio in the main building one evening we were there. It looks like the main building had some rooms on the first floor so if that is needed remember to ask when you reserve your room!

I would recommend the Oakhurst Inn's convenience to the University of VA. With accommodations so tight in Charlottesville, the Oakhurst provides a better stay for the price than many of the other hotels.

Breakfast and lunch at nearby cafe was excellent. Staff were very helpful. A very good hotel but not very easy to find without a car. Limited dining options in evening without a car.

This place is a gem! Monday was jazz & gin, so fun! People of all ages. Great bar, recommended a great restaurant in town. Staff was so accommodating, room was perfect with a patio. Actually this is a group of houses made into an Inn. Beautifully dove, breakfast cafe/lunch cafe is awesome, trendy, so much to choose! Bloody Mary was delish, avocado toast 😋Don’t pass this up for your standard hotel! These people cannot do enough for you!

The Oakhurst Inn is a beautiful, immaculate hotel right in the heart of Charlottesville. The Inn is comprised of a few different buildings, each with a handful of different units. We were greeted warmly at the front desk and told we had been upgraded to a larger, more centrally located room. Our room was very spacious, with a giant bathroom and trendy but cute decor. We did not have time to visit the outdoor pool, but were told it was open 24 hours! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Charlottesville. Very reasonable pricing considering the high quality experience!

The room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. The hotel had a perfect location for us. The food at the adjacent cafe is delicious, too!

The first room I was in was next to some sort of mechanical room or some very loud machine sound and the floor was vibrating. The staff helped me move to a quieter room, but quiet is relative. It’s old buildings

The TV didn’t work. The room was very loud because the walls are paperthin. Not very clean.
