Good experience

We had a wonderful stay! The historic train cars and beautiful grounds give the hotel a unique charm you won’t find anywhere else. The atmosphere was fun and relaxing, and it was a great place to stay while exploring Chattanooga. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend it for a memorable getaway!

Wonderful hotel. Beautiful and relaxing interior design, comfortable bed and nice exterior areas. Personnel were very friendly, polite and helpful. Also, the hotel is located in a vibrant area with lots of restaurants and pubs. This place is a significant step up from the major hotel chains and I really appreciated it. Thank you!

This was my 4th time staying here and I love it! The check-in staff was super friendly and I even got a free drink card when I dropped it that it was my birthday. The caboose bartender was super friendly and nice to talk to and the room was, as always, huge yet inviting. The only issue I had was the fact that I used to love the showers as it felt like you were standing under Niagara Falls. Not so anymore as it felt like standing under a summer rain. I miss the water pressure. The location cannot be beat and I will be back again.

Elsie's Daughter, the on-site restaurant, was excellent.

The property and the room were stunning but unfortunately we had a bit of an issue with our first room: the shower didn’t drain. We went to the front desk to ask for help, but we waited almost an hour and a half and no help materialized. We then asked if we could be moved to another room so we could bathe the kids and were told we had to pack up our stuff, take it out to the lobby, turn in our keys, and then they could get us another room. At this point it was midnight. A very kind staff person did come to the room while we were trying to get everything onto the trolley and she had new keys for us and was very helpful, but it was a bizarre situation to have at such a nice hotel. The beds were comfortable when we finally went to sleep and it was very nice to have an eating area in the room. Maybe not the most kid friendly place.

Beautiful hotel and very unique. They have room and train car options. Would have liked to stayed in a the train car but one wasn’t available. Stayed in a double queen room. Only issue was a dirty blood stained bath towel not replaced by housekeeping. Otherwise room was nice and decorated well.

Everything about this hotel is excellent- from the friendly, helpful staff, to the great amenities, thoughtful decor, and fantastic location. I will definitely be back.

This is by far my boyfriend and I’s favorite hotel and we will definitely be going more often! The staff are patient and understanding, they were very accommodating, the train car rooms are absolutely amazing, and it was very clean throughout.

Here’s what I didn’t love: We stayed in a room for 5 days—not a train car. The room was decorated well—but in many ways, impractical—it was difficult to set up a “home office.” There is no room service for meals or snacks—that I know. There are no ice machines—so, you can only get ice in the mornings—or before the coffee bar closes. (No one tells you this). Thankfully, the hotel allows pets—but there was an obvious pet “smell” from the minute we entered the hotel. Though our room was deemed “accessible” (which we neither needed nor requested), interesting that the entrance doors to the hotel lobby and elsewhere weren’t automatic—entrance and exit required a huge tug on the handles of heavy doors. Very awkward. We were charged for drinking water that wasn’t in the mini-fridge. Parking fees seemed excessive—$20/car per day. The staff was cool, not overly friendly or welcoming. The attached bar was a fun spot but, dirty counters and tables when we visited. (Maybe understaffed?). There was no room service—which would have loved! Overall, the stay was “meh.” But again, you can’t beat the location!! We spent our last night at anothet hotel; made all the difference in our experience.

I chose this hotel for exactly what we received. The location is perfect for walking to eat. There is every kind of food & atmosphere all in the area. This was a getaway for us & our grandsons 5 & 13) & I wanted it to be a special experience. From the time we entered the lobby, which takes you back in time, to the time we checked out, all our requests were met. The room was perfect, with comfy beds, the decor of times passed & lux toiletries. We definitely will be returning soon & stay in a train car.

Everything was perfect except the mini-fridge in the room did not work.
