The Hotel Chalet at The Choo Choo

My only requests for future guests: 1 - have a pen in each room, it is usually a hotel staple and I needed to write, I will say the hotel staff took care of me. 2 - a microwave somewhere on property to use. To warm up food or make popcorn even if it was just one in the lobby. Overall great, I’ll be back.

The styling of the hotel was gorgeous, every detail had been thought of. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

The hotel chalet at the Choo Choo is outstanding, the rooms are exceptional with a lovely pool and outside bar area.

This is our second time staying at the beautiful Hotel Chalet and we just adore it each time! We love staying in the Sleeper Train and enjoying the beautiful grounds and restaurants! Such a luxurious little escape. We can’t wait to come back!

We stayed one night and enjoyed Elsie's Daughter, the restaurant / bar on premises, including the free drink included in the room rate. We lounged in a hammock in the evening cool. The shower was powerful. Room lighting was a little too dim for older eyes. It was incredibly quiet for sleeping. Staff were very helpful too.

I loved this property so much!!! It was super cute and had fantastic outdoor space to relax. Walkable to many amazing restaurants, a brewery and a few distilleries.

PROS: - you cant beat the location. It is within walking distance of a lot of great bars, shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. - the hotel itself is quite charming in a quirky way. Somehow upscale but also kind of shabby chic. - the on-site bar and restaurant are both convenient and good. - the hotel pool is small, but very pleasant with excellent seating around it. Access to the outdoor bar is close. - the rooms located in the renovated train cars are unique, interesting, and fun. - excellent beds... I slept well all both nights I was there. CONS: - we stayed in a renovated train car and as fun as it was, the temperature variation throughout the day was striking. There's no good way to insulate those things and on a warm day you did notice the change in temperature especially in the hallway between the door and the bedroom area. - pretty expensive to stay here on the weekend. Like literally triple the cost of staying during the week. - the Saturday and Sunday we were staying at the hotel, there were two weddings. Not a problem in and of itself, but it felt like most of the hotel staff was focused on the weddings which meant things like the outdoor bar were shut down for portions of the day because of the staff being shifted to the weddings. - the expertise of the front desk was hit or miss. Some were knowledgeable, some were not.

Loved the old world ambiance and the feel of going back in time in this pocket of charm & sublime seclusion. Special kudos for Maddie, Sophie & Elsie at the reception desk and for their helpful, courteous phone service in order to change dates of stay. and upgrade room. Wish we could've of stayed longer.

I walked in the front doors and was transported to 1945. The decor was memorable, the music was appropriate to the era and the customer service was outstanding. My husband and I stayed in a railcar, we were impressed with the size of the roomand the radiant heated floors in the bathroom. Next visit we will try a room in the hotel. Can't wait!

Fantastic, unique accommodation. Cant imagine there’s a better place to stay in Chattanooga. All front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Chattanooga Whiskey tasting across the road is well worth it as well

The staff was friendly and it was a great location.

Location is great being walkable to food and entertainment. Only negative is lack of security and patio. The hotel doors leading outside to restaurants, pool, courtyards et were never locked. There are card key access devices on the doors, but the doors open freely without a card key. My room, 1st level, had a patio with sliding door but the slider had no additional means of locking it. There is a home less community present, very few noticed but had easy access in the hotel or sliders. The patio we pd extra for was nothing like the pictures and front desk didn't know that was the room we reserved at check in. Patio was disappointing and not used, unfortunately.

The CHECK-IN staff was fabulous, friendly and very helpful. I thought for certain I booked a train car for the stay but got a regular hotel room. Not exactly sure how you book those but that was the main reason I chose that place to stay.

Room was elegasnt and spacious...great location and very walkable...Elsie's Daughter restaurant on site is excellent and reasonably priced...very happy

Great location to stay for a concert in downtown Chattanooga. The room was plush and comfortable. The staff were hospitable and helpful. The vibe was fun and retro. Would definitely stay here again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Staff were very helpful, train carriage fun and very comfortable to stay in and pool was great. Would happily stay again.

Such a lovely hotel, couldn't recommend it more and the friendly staff added to the experience Paying for parking and there was no explanation on how much it cost
