SpringHill Suites by Marriott Chesapeake Greenbrier

Breakfast was a little below average. Reserved a king room but there were no king reins available when I checked in, so they put me in a room with two standard beds. There was a box fan on the floor on high when I checked in the temp in the room was 81. I did not complain at the time: I was tired and I did notice the vent was blowing cold air. The room cooled to 75 but I did notice that while in the room the next morning that the temp got back up to 80, so I checked the thermostat and it was off: the thermostat was turning itself off every three hours…I feel that the maintenance staff knew something was wrong with the room before I checked in and that room should have never been on the list to rent until the thermostat was working properly.

On top of that, the hotel itself is old and feels poorly maintained. Considering the condition of the property and the level of service, the price is far too high. It is definitely not worth the money. I would not recommend staying here. There are much better hotels that provide better service and a better experience for the same price.

The room smelled like BO. The air was broke in the room. The phone would not work so we couldn’t call down to the front desk. We were on the 2nd floor but spoke with people who stayed on the 4th floor & the air was broke on that floor as well. The hallways were unbearably hot. I never write a bad review, but this hotel needs to do better. The staff did bring 2 fans into our room for us & comped us a one night stay.

Bleach stains everywhere. Evening staff was rude. Decent breakfast. Kids loved indoor pool. No linens-had to ask and wait.

Great hotel

The properties amenities were great. They had coffee and water in the lobby. The proximity to convenient stores and discount stores was great. The only problem I had with the property was the couch looked like it was 25 years old. It had a lot of stains on it. The wooden furniture also was not only out dated it showed signs of major wear and tear, like someone had stripped it down to refinish it. Basically the hotel is nice the price is okay for what you are getting but they really need to change the carpet and update the furniture.

I enjoyed my stay

We were in room 217 and the tub/shower was so slippery my husband nearly fell twice. No anti slip left on the tub surface. Room had peeling wallpaper and dirt marks on the walls - not s uff marks, dirt - I washed them off myself. Property is run down and no effort seems to be going into building maintenance. Oh, and the hallway outside our room had 3 separate large spots (bigger than a sq ft) of bleached carpeting. Just tired looking.
