Hotel Ponce de Leon

They did have an easy check in and clean room, with a reasonable rate. But in the evening we noticed there was no hot water in the shower and no coffee for the coffee maker. There was no answer at the front desk. Someone from Hotels.com also called and also had no answer. Someone arrived much later and dropped off coffee but we never had hot water. Not having someone available at the front desk is unacceptable.

Charming 100-year-old building, pretty nicely refurbished. Hotel decor, including in-room, is very retro (we had new refrigerator and microwave that looked like 1960s appliances!). Bed was a little saggy, not great for bad backs. Minimal staff, don't expect much, but they were nice. Location is pretty good, near Litle Havana (although too far to walk). Some great restaurants on a beautiful plaza area (they close off the street) about 5 blocks south, just a short walk. A/C was excellent, very quiet. No parking - either use inexpensive metered parking on the street in front of the hotel, or hope you can find a spot around the corner on a side street where parking is free on the street. Overall, nice hotel for the price, good value.

I arrived before three and was able to check in, get settled and get something to eat. Although my stay was only for one day, the staff was very accommodating and helpful. They will keep your bags for you if you want to go out before check-in or if your scheduled ride have not come giving you the peace and freedom to walk around the area. building outside rusty old,and paint falling off. definately not what it looks on the expedia photos. or advertised.. inside smelled straight cigar masked with airfreshner. went up to the room aa soon as i opened the door it smelled old and muggy mixed with mold . it was cold and felt wet which means theres a lot of mold in the air.. i left the min i opened that door. i tried getting a refund which was denied. the clerk told expedia needed to give me the refund since i booked it with them.. but then expedia also denied my claim. i ended going to another hotel for the night. very bad experience.

I only stayed one night; the room was clean and comfortable. The location was convenient with anything I needed in walking distance.

A very quaint and cozy hotel!

Hotel is very clean and comfortable. Major negative is lack of elevators - we had to carry heavy suitcases upstairs with no help.

There is no elevator- keep that in mind when booking. The room itself was clean. The beds were decently comfortable. The main issue we had was that we were given only 1 wash cloth for 4 people. When we asked the front desk for more, we were told that there were no more.

Old school look but very clean . Central point in town. Very friendly staff. Some one above me made a lot of noise at night is my only complain but then again, Iam an early bird. Definitely would book again.

Minusses: we could only have one key for 2 quests No instructions about amenities in the room,, which are quaint. A/C totally inadequate , window unit which could not be adjusted Cute little refrigerator had icecube trays with water and smelled bad. Tried to turn it on but could not. Same with cute microwave. Light on nightstand inadequate to read by. The 100 damage deposit, which is actually charged on the credit card, with no explanation what that could be used for.
