Great location.

We had a room on level 1 with a river view. Pricey but worth it to celebrate 55 yrs of marriage. Refrigerator was spacious but lacked a freezer. Very quiet. Easy access to the river walking path. Restaurant was great and prices were reasonable, but when dinner was done it took 10 minutes after asking to get a box for our leftovers and another 15 minutes to get the check and pay

Liked the location. Could walk to downtown easily. Perfect 1st-level room with old dog to step out on beautiful grounds on the river. The homeless presence was only noticeable one day. The time we went to the restaurant there was next-to-no staff to seat us or serve us. But we loved the very large room and would stay there again.

Pool out of commission. Dining room food should be refunded. Interior design out dated and worn out. Lobby smelled musty and dirty carpet. Room was satisfactory.

I was a little taken back upon arrival. I paid for a king bed and was told that there were no king beds available and that I’d have to pay for an upgrade to get a king bed. The hotel front desk ended up giving me the king room at no charge but the whole situation was a debacle and not a good impression of the hotel.

Please Doubletree, upgrade this hotel! It felt like the hotel has not seen an upgrade since the 70’s. For the most part it was clean, but I was glad we only stayed for one night. The pool had so much chlorine that my son’s eyes burned for hours after he went swimming. We had to throw away his bathing suit because it spelled for chlorine so bad. The food in the restaurant was very basic and expensive

Definitely not what I think of when I see the name Hilton.

We liked having an Albertsons right nearby for incidentals and all the great choices for dining and entertainment. We spent a week going to 6 different major cities in Colorado and Durango was by far our favorite in part because of this nice hotel. Unfortunately we would not be able to afford to stay here for a week, so we stayed for 2 nights - whereas all the other stops we only stayed for one night (Silverthorne, Gunnison, Salida, Idaho Springs). We did have a little problem with the in room frig working, but they came up within 30 min and opted to just bring us another one instead of making us wait to see if the adjustments made would work. We had brought leftovers from our previous eve dinner, all our water bottles, apples, dairy free creamer, cheese dip, etc and had to have a working frig. Within an hour we were set up and out the door to explore. UNBEATABLE SERVICE!!

The floor in the room was filthy. A pillow dropped on the floor and you would have thought it fell on the ground outside. For $491 a night, I would think it would be cleaner. The bathroom looked like something you would expect from a motel 6. Handicap bars and shower curtain rod loose and wobbly, exhaust fan didn't work, ceiling panel above the shower haphazardly glued to the ceiling and falling. The water didn't drain very well at all and would be over your feet by the end of the shower. A piece of wood under the sink that looks like a cabinet that falls off when you touch it thinking it's a cabinet door. Elevator is extremely slow on the north side of the building that we found it faster to take the stairs to the 4th floor. Would not recommend.

The quality of the mattresses were poor. Our party had two different rooms, various adult ages. All of the beds hurt us and we did not sleep well.

Cool that the hotel was made to look old/historical in the entry. But the rooms are old and in need of repair and remodel.

Generally the hotel overall does need a bit of a face-lift. It is quite dated! However my husband and I had a very spacious room, with a small refrigerator, a microwave and a small terrace leading to the river and river walk. Very quiet and scenic! The hotel is dog friendly, many dogs were there, but sound proofing must be good, because we never heard any noise. Our room would have been perfect for a doggie family, Bruno could go straight to the grass, without going through the hotel. If you plan to use the microwave, take your own microwaveable containers, none are provided.

This is our second time staying here and we absolutely love it! The staff is so nice. The location is ideal to downtown. The river that runs by it is so soothing… we will be back! ❤️

The patio where we are outside is the bar was filthy.

Great vacation spot

Upon arrival, a bell captain was very helpful getting our luggage to the room. The housekeeping staff was quite efficient and thorough. After that, I am finding it difficult to say anything kind. The distance from parking to room was excessive, the air conditioning vent was directly aimed at the sofa so watching TV or talking was bordering on impossible, our balcony (replete with 2 chairs and a mini table) was effectively unusable, the restaurant menu was sketchy at best and we were well-worn from a 9 hour steam train excursion, so we decided to order 2 Cobb salads with added sirloin. It is hard to see $60 as a value, especially since the salads were--as my wife described them--a little odd for Cobb salads and the sirloin was a little grisselly. Add to this that there was no place to eat in our room unless we sat on the floor by the mini table provided. The previous night in a different city (staying at a different chain) was $108, and it was more spacious, king bed, and the same number of pillows!!! So what did we get for two nights at $400 per night? Marble sink, real glass drinking cups, and a river view nearly ruined by a mini balcony. AND no breakfast included (previous place had a great free breakfast!). When we checked out, the desk charged us for two waters--which we hadn't taken. We didn't argue and just paid it. At that point we had had enough of the Hilton. You should be ashamed! 2 Stars seems generous.
