Comfort Inn University Durham - Chapel Hill

Our room was damp and musty for four straight days. Two mornings, the coffee was empty. The exterior door on the south side of the building was broken and not secured. We will not be staying here again.

We booked suites which came with 1king size bed bedroom and 1 room with 2 queen beds with bathroom for each room and common area. Overall great experience with facilities at the Comfort inn. Breakfast was excellent and staff was awesome.

It is also easy to walk to the restaurant nearby. I definitely recommend!!!

Breakfast was not the best, but better than nothing. Staff is always super friendly. It was a very busy time and they stayed on top of things.

Morning front desk staff were nice. Afternoon/evening staff were rude and unhelpful. I was questioned on check in about age and reminded that I had to be 21+ to check in although I had ID to prove I’m 37 and I had my teen with me. She was very hesitant to allow check in. Hot coffee or hot water were not hot in lobby and was told that I had microwave in room. At check in I was unaware that there was a $100 deposit but only if paying with cash (not mentioned anywhere when booking). Paid for full stay upon check in. Checked out 1 night early and was never told that they would be charging me for the room again for that night. Saw transaction on bank account and called and was told I could re check in or deal with it cause they had no record I had already paid for room but yet I paid for 5 nights on night 1 and left night 4! I was told that I should see refund for night 5 but I have no clue if I actually will see one. Breakfast was included so can’t really complain about quality or selection although there wasn’t much to choose from. Very limited parking and very difficult to get in or out of the area. We will not be staying here or with this chain in the future.
