SpringHill Suites by Marriott Raleigh-Durham Airport/Research Triangle Park

Pretty ok stay! Ok across the board. Toilet clogged, and you could smell when others had to use it, so I am guessing it's an issue. The shower took forever to get warm and had mediocre pressure. The double bed was super small. The trundle for the kids was nice, and so was the breakfast.

Other than that, the rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was really good, too. But the lady in charge took too long to put more food, so there was a lonnger wait.

Also had spoke to the front counter about a missing dial on the microwave. The clerk at the counter (unknown name) was excellent. No one came to fix/replace the microwave during my stay. The employee at the front counter asked me if he had been fixed and I told him no. He was very apologetic! He provided good customer service! On Sunday 9/20 I went to the breakfast and they were unable to keep up with the demand of people. They had one lady restocking the food and cleaning. She was trying her best to keep up with the demand, but obviously needed help. Clearly not enough food staff working for the amount of people there.

Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was good and warm options good. Staff friendly and helpful.

The location and proximity to RDU was why we chose this hotel. Our flight was at 7am but the airport shuttle didn't start until 7am. The website needs to be updated as this is very misleading. Also, I specifically asked prior to booking the room about parking. I've stayed in this hotel before and kept my car there for my trip at no charge. For this stay, I was told that the hotel now charges $15 per day to park. It is cheaper to pay to park at the Economy lot at RDU, so we did that rather than pay $15 and have to find a way to the airport for an early morning flight. I will look for another hotel for my next trip that provides shuttle earlier and allows for free parking. Please update your website so this will not be a surprise for future guests.

I liked that the hotel was close to my sister's home, close to my daughter's college, and the price that I received for the stay. I did not like that when I checked into my room one of the beds had rocks or graduals in the bed, the framing of the wall in the bathroom looked rusted, and the sheets were stained. I was moved to another room but the 2nd room had no closet door, the shower knob was about to fall off, the microwave plate was broken so the food did not heat properly, and there was a bug in on of the beds.

Everything was fine but I was charged twice which is not fine. The room was payed for yet you billed the room to my credit card. I rented the room for a funeral and after speaking to your staff they left the burden on me to follow up about the double billing. Dealing with grief is hard enough and now to deal with customer service about paying twice for the same room.

On our second night, the A/C started blowing hot air. We went to the front desk, but the employee told us there were no available rooms to switch to. Shortly after, the A/C started working again, so we stayed in our room. Unfortunately, around 1:00 a.m. it stopped working again and began blowing hot air, leaving the room at 80°F. We went back to the front desk, and this time a different employee immediately found us another room. While I appreciated that employee’s help, it was disappointing that we weren’t offered that option earlier. Instead, we had to pack up all of our belongings and move rooms in the middle of the night with a child, which made for a very stressful experience. Other than that issue, the hotel itself was okay. I just hope they improve how situations like this are handled, as it could have been resolved much earlier.

I called for pick up from Raleigh airport to the hotel , which there is free shuttle service . I’ve waited over 1 hour for driver . I call back the hotel as was told you need to take a taxi or uber . When I got to hotel the shuttle bout van was parked , the guy who I assumed was the drive was having a cigarette break and they could have care less .I would NEVER stay there again.

Property is old but well maintained. Security is lack luster (you don’t have to scan a key card to access) but it’s a good area. The love the roominess of the rooms, they have a microwave, fridge, and a sink in the suites. And good shower pressure. No complaints. And the staff were very helpful!
