Courtyard by Marriott San Diego El Cajon

Light switch in the entry behind the room door was broken so is necessary to go into the room in the dark in order to turn on another light. It was recorded. The ice machine on the second floor was not operational. I recruit it at the front desk twice, and it was finally operational on the last I was there. It was necessary for me to either go to a different floor or go to the front desk to get ice. House Keeping was supposed to show up the day, but they did not show up until the last night that I was there and there was no coffee or cups left by House Keeping. When I called the front desk, they said they didn’t have anybody who could bring coffee and cups to me so if I wanted coffee, I would have to come down to the front desk once again to get coffee and chips. There was a POS failure on the second day in the restaurant and bar so they were both closed except for the fair that you could buy coffee there if you had cash. That I was there in the afternoon restaurant and bar were open and the POS was working so I ordered a quesadilla and a salad. The salad had a live caterpillar crawlin g around in it. Fortunately, it wasn’t a half a caterpillar. The halls are generally filthy. The last morning, the POS system was up and running again so I ordered a breakfast quesadilla. Suddenly, I realize that there was water in my plate and on further investigation discovered condensation is dripping out of the air-conditioning duct at the ceiling directly above me. I didn’t finish my meal.

My family and I had a pleasant stay at this property. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, and the property was clean, quiet and in a great location with stores and fun things to do in walking distance.

I felt safe, staff, particularly Michael at the check in desk was super helpful….. he needs a raise please. I TRIED to buy some snacks from the mini “ convenience” store my 2nd day and the line was out the door. Some guy cut me in line (because I’m a woman I’m sure) and the employee was just standing there, still as if we were in the back rooms. I felt like we were in another dimension. 10 min later, we put the snacks back and had to order out. I am grateful that Michael was there when we checked in because he was EFFICIENT AND HELPFUL, friendly……it’s what separates a good employee from someone who doesn’t care about their job. Hotel was super clean, modern, quiet and safe. Pool and jacuzzi were great too. I would stay here again.

The staff was very accommodating to my stay. I especially wanted to recognize Estella and the gentleman who worked the next day. I want to say his name is Michael. Their kindness, flexibility and great customer service really allowed my family to enjoy their stay for my mother's 60th birthday party. Thank you!!

Wifi was NOT good, kept disconnecting, couldnt get work done.

Only complaint would be that the music was somewhat loud in the lobby/restaurant area. We stayed 4 days and will definitely return we we comeback to visit family!

Updated property, helpful staff, close to quality restaurants. Parking was responsible. Good experience at this property

We stayed there for four nights, and we only had one day of room service. I went to the front desk to ask for room service and was told they were going to send someone, but they didn't. Towels and bathroom were not as clean as I expected.
