The lodge was beautiful and clean. Very well maintained. Our room had a nice kitchenette. Great location, close to town. I would stay here again.

The Crags Lodge has so much history and the picture collage helps you have a better understanding of the Jim Mills and his completive edge with Mr. Stanley The Lodge is quite and well laid out the wooden floors creaks just enough to make you pause and think of the many people who came before you. Hot tub is warm and welcoming, the Breakfast was ideal for a grab and go to get into the park before it gets crowded.

What a gem hidden among the hills above busy Estes Parks. The room was much more than what we expected. Weren’t able to enjoy the pool because of a short visit. Beautiful grounds. Breakfast was just so so….

It’s a charming old hotel, we enjoy our stay but we were lucky that it was a chilly night and the open window cooled down the room really well. The floorboards creek but we didn’t mind. The room and bed were comfy and the hit popcorn near the bar was much appreciated. The bartender was absolutely lovely and very helpful.

Loved the vintage property and it was close to all activities, shopping and food. We can’t wait to see the new renovations.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bar had a nice happy hour. The pool and hot tub were great. All around a wonderful experience.

Everything about this property is excellent. Great historic environment, super friendly staff and an outstanding pool with A+ views. Large hotel rooms also a plus.

We brought the kids up for a night and had such a great stay. They loved playing in the pool, and we really enjoyed the friendly staff and all the lodge has to offer. The Historic Crags Lodge is truly beautiful, with majestic mountain views, tons of character, and an amazing location that’s even walkable to downtown Estes Park. Such a special place for a quick family getaway!

I travel a fair bit and rarely write negative reviews for hotels—this might actually be my first one in years. However, paying $500 a night set expectations that were unfortunately far from met. While I appreciate the historic charm of the property, the overall experience fell well short of the price point. The Rooms The main issue was room comfort. The space felt small and claustrophobic—a sentiment shared by 3 to 4 people across our group. The furnishings need attention: the couches were incredibly uncomfortable with cushions that constantly slid off, making them difficult to sit on, and the carpets felt old and stale. For what we paid, I expected a room that felt warm, welcoming, and comfortable. The "Continental Breakfast" The breakfast offering was a major disappointment. It consisted mostly of stale pastries, fruit, and coffee-flavored water. The yogurt selection was poor quality, and there were no warm options or protein available—no eggs or hash browns, just ultra-processed, sugary items. This is not the standard expected from a higher-end hotel. Location While the lodge is a short drive from downtown Estes Park (under 5 minutes), keep in mind that walking into town isn't a realistic option due to the winding roads and lack of sidewalks. In the morning, they opened and I was finally able to get inside. I stayed there for two days. Overall, it’s okay—it’ll do.

We had a great time in the outside hot tub and pool area. One of the best views from a hotel hot tub ever! Longs Peak in the background while you are surrounded by beautifully maintained grounds. Too bad the restaurant was not open. We have enjoyed it many times over the years. Highly recommend this hotel.

A true gem in Estes Park. The staff is so friendly and the lodge is quaint and historic. They have massive plans for renovations. Those will only add to the historic charm! Centrally located

Front desk staff was friendly and parking was easy to find. Excellent location to RMNP is this property’s finest feature. Sadly, this was a very outdated location. No A/C and one of our windows wouldn’t stay open. Our toilet was broken and not fixed during our stay, even with a maintenance request. Breakfast as promised included yesterday’s coffee and nothing else 30 minutes after it was supposed to be available.

This was a great place to stay just enough up the hill that it was quiet but yet close enough to town. The staff was great and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. We were on the motorcycle and it was easy to get to on it.
