Clarion Hotel & Suites Fairbanks near Ft. Wainwright

They moved us to a new room but it was directly above the mitchen and smelled like onions the while stay we were there. The restaurant is not a bar of the hitel so you cant order room service and the alcohol cant leave the bar. Paint was chipping off the walls in all rooms.

Very dirty. The room we had as on the 2nd floor and our window was situated at the bottom of the 2nd floor patio. Very awkward. The room and hotel were uncomfortably hot. Which is saying something since we are from Texas.

As carpet needs cleaning in the lobby and hallways

There was a permeating smell of damp; as if the hotel had flooded on all levels. Gave it a 2 because the people were friendly but not exceptional.

For some reason, they had floor blowers going constantly for the week that we were there. Maybe they washed the carpets, but it seemed excessive for that to be running for a whole week. Mold or mildew problem, maybe?

Outside is beautiful, inside very outdated. Smelled like weed. Had glad plugins every few feet in the halls with fans to try to mask the smell. Carpets are nasty . The beds though were comfortable.

Elevator has this strong wood/moldy smell.

With breakfast

Older building but friendly staff and clean room. Breakfast was typical but when complimentary I’m not as picky. There was a decent selection.

Room was OK and clean, that’s the best comment I can make about this facility. This is an older property, and it clearly shows. Old, wrinkled, and damp smelling hallway carpets throughout. Window(!) air conditioners barely brought down the room temperature and interfered with the ability to keep the room dark for sleeping with the 24/7 daylight.

While our room was clean, the lobby and common areas were not. It was dreary, dated and the carpet looked like it had not been cleaned in many years. The room was large. The towels and linens were very cheap and rough. The staff gets an A+. They were friendly and went out of their way to provide information. The free breakfast was good with fresh fruit, yogurt, waffles, etc.. We did expect a better quality room for the price.

Black out curtains would work well if they were again the wall or window, but 4” away it allows in a lot of light. The window AC is in the window behind the curtains.

The room was clean and quite large. The hot breakfast was outstanding!!

The room was large and clean. The bed and pillows were soft and comfortable. The hotel was convenient to all the Fairbanks attractions. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The room was spacious, but neither well appointed nor maintained. Not enough chairs, a very small tv and a damaged set of drawers try to fill the room. Bed was nice and comfortable. Corridors and lobby are dark and uninviting. Staff do not smile, and are not very helpful. Breakfast is average, but the restaurant in the basement is dark with two portable airconditioners and air trunking leading to the ceiling.
