Rivers Edge Resort

The cabin facing the river was a unique way to introduce ourselves to Fairbanks. Just wish we had been able to arrive earlier on our travel day to enjoy it more. Beds are somewhat old and not as comfortable as we would have liked. Not bad for only one night but could have been an issue for a longer stay.

I loved having our cottage next to the River wonderful view. However the lock on the inside of the room doesn’t lock so while we were inside staff was able to access the room 3 times before check time. I realize the resort was closing for the season. But we had asked for late check out which was told 12. We did check out by 11 to accommodate there wishes.

Rooms were small 1970 type, carpet needs changed and outside needs boards replaced and painted. Main issue is no eating places close. We were the last week the restaurant was open and there were only four choices on a the menu. Breakfast was just OK but over priced

The cottages were sketchy with the decades old furnitures, locations, and clogged shower drains. My disappointment came from the huge difference between their photos online and the reality, also the price. If I knew that I booked 2 stars motel, I would rate 7 or 8, but for this ones, I give 4 for my stay experience

Stayed in the historic, main hotel, which was older but well maintained. The cabins on property appear newer and good for families.

Friendly, efficient check in and out. Good breakfast buffet, with attentive staff. Nice to be able to park right outside unit - especially as it rained during our stay. Before the rain, it was handy having the river walk on the property after our long drive to Fairbanks. Good location on the Chena, yet only about a 10-minute drive to most places we went - restaurants, university, Riverboat Discovery, Pioneer Park/Alaskaland, Antique Car Museum, and just over 20 minutes to visit Santa in North Pole!
