Holiday Inn Express Akron NW - Fairlawn by IHG

Granted we were not here long, but the bed was comfortable, room was cool, and breakfast was good.

It was overall a good stay. There were some stains on the bed, but that would be the only complaint. We met a housekeeper who was brand new. She was so kind and excited to be there. The front desk staff always greeted us with smiles on their faces. Breakfast was good and each day, the workers were cleaning up and bringing out fresh items. I would definitely stay again.

You always know what to expect with Holiday Inn Express except this one on Market St, Fairlawn Ohio was even better. It appeared to be newly refurbished, nice and clean. My only complaint would be breakfast room seating was so tight you could not even get to the center tables. Would be better to remove center round tables because you can’t get to them anyway.

The rooms and AC units beginning to show their age. AC units beginning to seperate from the wall. Wall paper starting to peal in the bathroom. Not enough power outlets on the little desk. The staff is great but the rooms need some upgrading.

Carpets worn & dirty as well as most furnishings in room. Needs updated. & looks like they may be soon remodeling some as carpeting vehicle stopped in while we stayed. Rooms had cobwebs in corners & bedding older & worn as well but clean! First Lady at desk very nice but others remained hidden well. No towels in pool area when we went to swim. Breakfast was phenomenal! Parking area near back not very well lit & a little creepy. Bathroom had not been clean thoroughly as used washcloth was left on shower curtain rod. Shower was nice with good pressure but the floor of the bath looked dirty and dingy

My room was clean. However when I went to get into bed the sheet did not fit on the bed. So we had to take it off. The gentleman at the front desk couldn’t do anything about that because there was nobody there from housekeeping. He said they could address the issue the next morning, the day I was checking out. There was also a strong sewage smell in and around my room.

Air conditioner was noisy. Toilet leaked though it was promptly fixed. Rugs were dark grey and appeared worn and possibly not clean See above

This property was awful. We had to get moved to a new room as we had stains all over the mattress covered and found some type of bugs. The next room not much better as there was urine around the toilet seat and the tub did not drain.

Upon first glance after entering the lobby, the furniture was not in clean condition and the trash was overflowing. The front desk clerk did say that they were short staffed. We arrived around 6:00 pm to check in and the room was not ready. We waited 20 minutes and they gave us our room. The room was clean with the exception of the trash which had not been emptied. Staff was courteous. However, we did wake up at 7:00 am to the sound of aggressive vacuuming nearby. Breakfast and coffee were good.

Close to things that we wanted to see and do Room could use a deep clean, cob webs in window, baseboards dirty, molding in bathroom dirty, mattress sunk in the middle, guest bathroom in lobby filthy

My only complaint about the hotel is that the pancake-making machine was down during breakfast. Otherwise, I do recommend this hotel.

Nice place if it was cleaned up. Everything needed to be cleaned- Doors dirty, walls dirty, furniture dirty, shower floor stained, floors not swept, carpet needs to be shampooed and vacuumed on a daily basis, ac unit loud. Disgusting!!!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Large breakfast selection. Two restaurants within walking distance, one of which was excellent and directly next door. I would stay there again.

I liked the breakfast and the location. I hated the window treatments. The shade could not roll up and as a result, the room was perpetually dark. They were the worst window treatments of any hotel that I have ever stayed in. Also, the pull up handle to the bathroom sink did not work. As a result, the water could not drain from the sink. When I complained to the manager, all that was done was to remove the pull up handle and pull up the stopper to let the water drain. When I used the sink again and pushed down the stopper, the water could not drain again. Lastly, the outer door handles had to be pulled up to open instead of down like most hotels.
