I needed a last minute hotel room for one night and the Sonesta Select fit the bill. Reasonably priced, basic hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Only complaint is the room had a strong, tangy odor - maybe a scented cleaning product?
-
The room was infested by multiple roaches! I immediately checked out. Apparently house keeping isn’t even an option at this place. I highly do not recommend this hotel. Such a horrible way to ruin my 4th of July weekend. This not only caused unnecessary stress but also disrupted my travel plans and resulted in additional expenses.

We were there for 4 nights, never cleaned our room. Had to call for clean towels every day. The internet & the tv went out the 1st day & service was never restored. Will not stay there again.
-
Air conditioner didn’t work, our room was right next to where there was construction.
-
For such a good hotel price was phenomenal. I will come again.

Just what i needed for one night

It wasn’t my favorite but served the purpose of our trip.

Nothing to like. No complimentary breakfast, not even any fresh brewed coffee. They did have a small shop in the lobby where you could order a Starbucks coffee. Unfortunately, it didn't taste like Starbucks coffee. Leaks in the rooms upstairs, running downstairs. Wet carpet activating old carpet cleaning agents making it hard to breath. Emergency cleanup folks talking and laughing loud as they worked. Fans upstairs and downstairs running all night long, the noise coming into our room. Emergency fire alarms going off when there was no smoke or fire that shut down the elevators which my wife needed to exit the 2nd story room. Air conditioner that was not even connected to the wall thermostat.

This hotel charges a $250 hold on your card when you book this hotel, which is ridiculous because we stayed for one night, and one night’s stay costs less than $250. The smoke detectors went off multiple times after 10:00 at night. We won’t stay here again.
-
Love this hotel it’s such a good price for only being like 10 minutes from the beach and it’s always clean, this was my second stay and it was amazing for such a cheap price

We've stayed here multiple times over the last few years. The rooms are clean and the staff is very helpful. On the downside. No coffee pot or microwave in the rooms. We've been carrying our own coffee bag with everything needed including a coffee maker and cups. They charge to park there which is ridiculous but oh well. It's close to the locations we need to go to.

I was informed at check-in that I had been upgraded (yay) but when I got to my room it literally smelled like cat pee (not yay). The towel bar by the sink was holding on by the wall paper, and it just seemed like a very old room. It did seem clean, but even after leaving the balcony door open all evening while I was out it still smelled when I returned. It’s conveniently located near freeway access, and not too far from the beach but not close enough to walk or bike to for sure. Area seemed ok until trying to find a parking spot at night, and then as a woman walking alone I felt a little uncomfortable. Key access to enter the building was a nice touch.
