Candlewood Suites Fredericksburg by IHG

The hotel appears to be new and the pictures on the website are lovely. In the first room, the lid was off the back of the toilet and there was feces in the toilet, we had to ask for towels, and the non-smoking room smelled like smoke. In room #2, there was something brown on the sheets, there was a bunched up washcloth in the shower, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and strong air freshener to cover up the smell of smoke. The chair was falling apart. In the third room, the floor was sticky and it smelled like smoke. Being the female reporting this, I did not once receive an apology. My husband did.

Halls have garbage in hit, signs stating hotel will not pick up guest trash, so it sits to ferment. Only 1 working washing machine and dryer. Rates with a low motel.

Bed was soft Tv guide moved by itself

Disappointing

Roach Infestation, which may mean there may be other types of infestations in the building. The room smelled moldy, and as the night progressed, roaches began to pop out on the walls. We opened the freezer and there were dead roaches . We were in the room for 2 hrs and decided to leave. Refund was requested upon departure.

The place was not clean and the had roaches.

No breakfast Room was dirty. Roaches, unemptied trash cans.

Gnats, roaches and the weight room is dirty and missing weights.

Alittle out of date

Location was great Alittle out of date

Yes, it had roaches in 2 of the rooms and the 3rd room we were put in the bed was horrible and very uncomfortable

The location was near everything I needed. They have roaches bad!!!! I asked to switch rooms & was only provided the option of switching to a smoking room (which I booked a non-smoking room). No refund or anything was provided to help ease the fact I paid of $400 to sleep with bugs!!! Extremely disappointed and unacceptable. I will never book this hotel again. They seriously need to exterminate the ENTIRE building or knock it down and start over because roaches were everywhere. I even heard other people had BED BUGS in there room.

Friendly staff Saw few roaches crawling around

Not good . Had Roaches and room stunk

Not good! 🪳 Cockroaches in refrigerator soon as we entered room. Canceled reservations immediately and was still charged $120.

all is well

Reasonable price The facility seems to cater to medium- and long-term stays. We booked here for the kitchenette, but it was not equipped so as to make it possible for two people to prepare and eat a meal. There was noise all night from the highway outside.

Booked non smoker room and was told they only had smoking rooms, we are currently displaced from our home and this was not what we booked or expected we are currently waiting for a refund for our 2 night stay

The beds were too hard
