Rodeway Inn Groton - New London

The room had a very bad, stale odor. So bad that the odor was in the sheets on the bed. The handle on the toilet was broken and could not flush. I had to lift the cover off the back of the toilet and lift the toilet flapper to flush the toilet. The base of the lamps and light fixtures were completely rusted. When checking out of the room, I mentioned the problem with the toilet and the clerk was the one who mentioned the handle was broken! So they knew about the problem and yet still let me stay in it instead of putting me in a different room!!

Ice machine was broken during our stay also has issues with TV. They fixed TV but we couldn't turn it off

This hotel uses pictures to advertise on Expedia which look nothing like the condition of this place. Stay away from this location.

The room was clean. The front workers were very helpful and nice. Only my comment is that the smelled cigarettes.

Veryyyy dirty room, mold on ceiling of bathroom, room had stained bedding with crumbs, carpet torn up and dirty, closet door was broken, none of the furniture was clean, shower and bath had mold, crumbs in every drawer of dresser, could hear EVERYTHING from the surrounding rooms.

Do not bring your children here! Proceed booking this hotel with caution! My husband and I brought our 3 children (1 only 7 months old) on our beach trip here thinking it would be a nice stay for a few days. We reserved 2 separate non smoking rooms. First on our way, I called to ask the front desk what time we could check in. None of the numbers listed were in service. When we arrived, we were very disappointed with the following. The rooms were filled with cigarette and weed smell. You could see mold and rust buildup all below the fridges. There were wet spots on the rug that my son described as "soggy wet onions". The rugged floors were filthy with burn marks and dirt/crumbs. We had to make them keep their shoes on while they were in the rooms. The bed sheets were covered in stains and hair when we pulled back the sheets. In the bathroom, the door didnt close. Turning on the bathtub, in one room the shower head was hanging out of the wall and shook while running, while the other tub did not drain properly. Also, the floors became soaked every time you turned on the shower. The towels they did give us were small and only 2 per room. When we requested more, they made us return the ones already there before giving us any. Day 1 we spoke with the office staff and they told us they were booked and that there was no way to accommodate any of the issues at hand, and gave us a set of sheets for us to make the beds ourselves. My husband saw a sign behind the front desk that said "We have roaches" that was warning the employees not to eat on site. The employee there was eating. When we checked out, we were told a manager would contact us. We have received no contact yet. P.S. Our luggage still carries the smell of cigarette and weed smell even after being home.

Okay, so the bathroom sink wouldn't drain. The bureau drawers were held in with duct tape. The refrigerator door wouldn't shut, and it smells so severely of chemicals like you were trying to hide something in the rug. It was almost breathtaking meaning taking my breath away. Stinky also I couldn't open the windows because the screens had holes in them. Ohh, and lastly, the tv didn't work just saying not a fan

The carpet was filthy, the furniture was ripped and damaged, and the entire property felt dingy, poorly maintained, and potentially unsafe. I stayed only long enough to find and book a room at another hotel. Unfortunately, the front-desk receptionist offered little to no assistance when I raised my concerns. This property needs immediate attention from both the owners and management. A thorough cleaning, repairs, and a serious health and safety inspection are desperately needed. Based on the condition I experienced, I believe the appropriate health or safety department should inspect this hotel. I cannot recommend this property to anyone in its current condition. Guests deserve a clean, safe room—especially when they specifically request a non-smoking accommodation.
