Checked out after one night and did not stay another. The rooms were filthy. Mattress had dry blood sheets didn’t fit on the bed the comforter was a beach blanket. Bathroom everything was broken. Sink, toilet paper holder, mirror was full of rust. Whole place needs to be torn down and rebuilt. Do not book.

I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone who can afford to stay at a hotel or motel. This place is absolutely the worst I have ever stayed at. This establishment appears to be where people experiencing homelessness or government assistance are placed. A majority of the rooms were occupied by these people. As soon as you walked into the room, it smelled like a combination of marijuana and cigarettes. The bathroom was disgusting; neither the tub nor the sink was cleaned. The carpet smelled bad, and I never took my shoes off to walk on it, afraid of catching a bacteria from it. The furniture looked like it was found off the streets in the 70's. They had a chair with a desk to sit in, but I would put my dog in the nasty, filthy, disgusting chair that looked like it was taken out of someone's garbage. The room was never cleaned; my husband had to go to the office to request soap, washcloths, and towels. The pictures on the website need to be updated because they do not accurately describe the property. This property needs a total restoration and updated amenities. This place feels like a homeless shelter. I only booked it because I have stayed atcthe Rodeway Inn in Waterford several times, and it was a clean, updated clean place. I had assumed Groton was the same. Well I got a rude awakening when I entered the room, and when I went outside later that morning to find unkempt looking people sitting outside, with their rooms looking as though it was their personal home. No space...

The negatives: foul smell of smoke, torn up old carpet, a weird hot tub in the room (mixed feelings about this because i have back problems), no coffee today (blamed on truck not coming, forcing me to walk across the street where Motel 6 clerk Mark graciously offered theirs!!) There is more to say but I will talk to Expedia. The good is very good and the bad unacceptable if you are taking my hard-earned money. I have had headaches but leave tomorrow. The trees outside my room are a balm and as I said some nice staff.

The room has holes and cracks in the floor/wall/ceiling. It's dirty and doesn't feel safe. The lady up front was a darling. But everything else about this was terrible. The blankets didn't have any substance to em. It was just a thin piece of fabric.

When I got to the hotel I was told they were all booked up and that I needed to stay at Super 8. So I went there to stay. The next day Saturday of my vacation, I got a phone call from Super 8 saying I needed to pack my stuff because I only had the 1 night to stay. I was very upset with that. Super 8 told me that if I did not get my things out of the hotel room they are going to put them out in the hallway. I went back to Rodeway Inn and told them what happened. They got me a room some place else. I had to pay again for another Hotel. Now I lost money at Roadway Inn and I want my money back.

The outside was a bit dodgy but no worries really. Room was clean for what it was. The AC worked and was needed. I needed a crash pad for 2 days and it met my needs and budget. I'll probably go back next year.

Rodeway was actually sold out when I arrived so they sent me to one of their other properties Super 8 down the street

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

The location and the staff was good... The room wasnt that clean and it had a foul odor

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

You get what you pay for. Both the property and the room were dingy, dirty, things were broken, etc. Room smelled like cigarettes after we requested a nonsmoking room. Staff were very friendly and nice.

Bed sheets, carpet EVERYTHING was nasty.

My stay was fine for the low price but the general condition of the hotel inside and outside was not to great. My room was as clean as it could get but the carpeting was very old and in poor condition, the bathroom was ok except for the missing toilet paper holder and the remote control wouldn’t control the tv so i had to use the buttons on the back of the tv use it. But it was the cheapest option around and that made it worth it for me since I only used it for 15 hours.

My reservation was changed without any notice. When I went to check in the informed me that they had a new system and that my reservation was changed to the next day. I would like a full refund. I had to leave and book a room somewhere else. Very unacceptable!

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

Sorry but is nasty place blanket dirty really bad experience, keep in eye do better service because in the photos when you do the reservation is not the same.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

I show up to the hotel and the staff says “we don’t have rooms available “ and the system move my reservation for another day. The staff never help me. The hotel look dirty.

The only plus side to the hotel was that the air conditioner worked and there was a bed to sleep in. Other than that, the floor was disgusting and had a weird film feeling on it. You had to push hard on the handle to get the toilet to flush. The shower had no stopper so it kept filling up with water and would take all day to go down. There was only 1 single working light in the room (like literally 2 of the lamps were missing lightbulbs). My smoke free room REAKED of smoke. The toilet paper was empty. The sink also had to plug so god forbid you drop anything down there. The lobby smelled like marijuana the whole time we stayed. We literally left a day early because we would rather spend 2 hours in traffic then spend another night in that hotel.

Great place. We love it. Was the best place to stay when you come to visit Connecticut. Don’t waste time looking around just come this confortable suite to having a good rest. Thanks so much. It was worth it.

Everything was dated and the bathroom was disgusting. Will not stay here in the future. I do not recommend.
