American Inn Grover Beach

Is security parking and good area.

Simple room. The rooms were very clean, with wood laminate flooring. For an older motel, it was maintained well and looks like the rooms were recently remodeled. We were only three blocks from the beach! I would definitely stay there again.

The room was somewhat outdated, but it was clean. Had the typical bed, dresser, tv and table. There was a fridge but it was not plugged in. And there was a coffee maker but no coffee. Also the toilet was leaking from somewhere. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean! At the time we were there it was quiet. It was friendly and in a good location.

The bed looked ok, and large. When we sat down, the loose metal frame killed it. When you looked at the sheets on it, you see there was other people's hair on it... we stripped the bed and laid our sheets on it, so that we could rest a bit. When we closed out eyes, you hear a train nearby.. and the walls have 0 insulation, so you hear the neighbors and people walking outside. We turned on the AC, and it stayed on for maybe 30 mins, then never came back on. We also noticed out skin was getting itchy, so that was our cue to leave. So in short, it was noisy, bad smell, hair on the sheets, furniture was stained and topped of with itchy skin after we left.

Staff of ONE… checked in at about 9pm. Checked out at about 9am same guy at front desk. He also questioned me about my ID and credit card “ is this really you..?” Rude.

No frills. When I say no frills not even an ice machine. The rooms are super clean and quiet. The staff was friendly checking us in. Easy walk to the beach. Not a bad place for a night between places.

Room and amenities were fine, they even provided q-tips which I think more hotels should do. That was a plus. However, front staff is not friendly, I would even go so far as to say rude. Walked in said hello and the guy working the desk looked at me like I was disgusting, “what do you need a room or something?” Um no actually I made a reservation. then he looked at me and with and with no context, very rudely said “ well can you wait a minute”. Ok sure? so I started walking out the door feeling incredibly uninvited, could tell the guy caught himself being an a-hole and then tried to back track and say something to me about someone’s ID before me, I was on my way out idk. It was not pleasant though, and made me not want to be there. I guess the room is fine. Everyone in this whole area seems really nice, but that initial interaction was anything but.

We’ve stayed here before and will again. It’s an older place, but the rooms are nice.

It was ok, but it wasn't what they show on the app. Also I was charged unexpected fees

There was a cockroach on the curtains and the furniture was old; I paid 230 dollars and thought the room would be excellent.

Bathroom smelled like pee upon first entry. Fridge was unplugged and we found out after food spoiled.

Additional charge for animal stay without notice upfront.

Everyone was nice including management

It’s an ok place to stay, but the price is high in the weekend. No breakfast, no ice machine, no vending machines.

For a basic room,too expensive!

Room was ok. Tv did not work. We notified the office staff, someone came over but it still didn't work. We were not offered a discount or offered to move to another room. It was a Sunday night and there was plenty of availability. I do NOT recommend staying at this hotel. We will not be staying here again.

Staff were very unfriendly and very nosy

The staff was cordial. The location is good, but I won't stay there again.
