Room had bad cigarette odor and visible roaches!

It’s incredibly great value for money, the room big and the beds comfortable. The biggest let down were the marks in the toilet that hadn’t been cleaned and the hairs around the bath. Also the shampoo and shower gels were empty. The beds were comfortable and clean, the AC was great, the fridge and tv were all good features. Overall I’d stay again for a pit stop, at that price I can put up with a few imperfections!

The price was pretty good. The location was good. It was pretty quiet, with no noisy neighbors. There were no roaches in or on my bed, so I stayed. At least the roaches were pretty small. ROACHES!! There were cockroaches running around on and in the furniture, floor, sink, toilet. I had to hang things over night so they wouldn't get infested and come back home with me. They were active when I got there at night, and when I left the next morning. Maybe twice in my travels I've seen roaches in a motel, and maybe there were 1-3 of them. There were so many more in Hagerstown! THIS is why my individual ratings differ from my overall score. I killed at least 20 of them. If you pay for pest control, you should consider paying me for my efforts. The room temp was set for 68F which was too cool for me. So I reset it for 75F, figuring the unit would just turn off. But I think it went into heating mode, and I very soon smelled what I associate with mouse feces and urine being heated up in a long unused oven. So either there are mice in the heating unit, or roaches and/or their droppings smell similar. BTW, that smell is very unpleasant, if you hadn't guessed.

Location This is basically a “welfare” motel.
-
The room was in overall good condition with clean sheets, bathroom & floors. There just a few small repairs needed. The painting in the bathroom was a little sloppy, the door to the outside is damaged and needs to be sealed at the bottom.

The staff is nice and helpful but the place is nasty and wouldn’t recommend. It’s sad when even a 7 year old says I’ll sleep in the car, this place is scary.
